⬆️ Remember that old Dr Who episode from the late 1970s? (Tom Baker 1974-1981)
The Doctor goes into a booth to get some cash with his "card". Next thing you know, he's trapped inside and the police are on their way.
"You are a fugitive...!"

[The Doctor, Leela and company are hiding in a corridor. A figure approaches]
The Doctor: A Sontaran.
Leela: What are these Sontarans?
The Doctor: A race devoted to perpetual war.
Leela: Then I shall kill him.
...
MANDRELL: Work? Work, Cordo? Nobody works here. We go into the upper levels and steal what we need. Aye, and kill for our needs when necessary.
(A woman grabs Leela's costume.)
VEET: This skin, it's real skin!
LEELA: You touch me again and I'll fillet you!
Leela of the Sevateem is a fictional character played by Louise Jameson in the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. She was a companion of the Fourth Doctor and a regular in the programme from 1977 to 1978.

oftwominds-Charles Hugh Smith: The 'Take This Job and Shove It' Recession
Conventional economists, politicos and pundits are completely clueless about the unraveling that's gathering momentum beneath the superficial surface of "reflation" because they don't yet grasp we're entering an unprecedented new type of recession: a 'Take This Job and Shove It' recession which is unlike any previous downturn.
...
What the chattering class of apologists, toadies, lackeys, factotums and apparatchiks missed about the pandemic lockdown was the tidal change in perceptions of work and life enabled by a withdrawal from the deranging frenzy of work: once people had time to reflect on their lives, mortality, goals, identity and the soaring costs and dwindling rewards of their efforts to "get ahead" via slaving away in a dead-end job / career, the tune that began to haunt their subconscious ruminations was Johnny Paycheck's timeless classic, Take This Job And Shove It (2:31).
Album: Take This Job and Shove It (1977)
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eIjEauGiRLo
The reality that wages have stagnated for the past 50 years is finally sinking in, and people are responding accordingly.
...
While the apologists, toadies, lackeys, factotums and apparatchiks serve their neofeudal lords for pennies tossed in the sawdust, the most productive workers are melting away. Nobody dares mention the number of physicians and nurses who are leaving America's sickcare system; once again, the pandemic served as a catalyst for action to be taken on long-simmering frustrations.
...
The danger to the state is not who rebels but who opts out. Outright rebellion suits the state, as it can turn its monopoly on force on the citizenry. But when those keeping everything glued together have had enough and find a way to quit, the entire system starts unraveling in ways the state is powerless to stop.
If the Technocrat Caste opts out, the private sector loses its tax donkeys and managerial expertise. If what remains of the middle class opts out, what's left of America's civic glue disappears.
If the working poor opt out, the scut work required to provide the upper classes with their comforts will not get done. (Hey, Mr. State Bureaucrat and Mr. Financier, here's a saw and a knife. Butcher your own meat.)
There's only so much inequality and unfairness a workforce can bear, and America is well past that point. To those who claim "people can't afford to quit," just watch. Those who've had enough are finding ways to opt out. There's plenty of woodwork to disappear into.
...
So take this job and shove it, I ain't working here no more. I'm stepping off the rat-race merry-go-round, thank you very much. You can find some other sucker to do your dirty work and BS work, all for the greater glory and wealth of your New Nobility shareholders. I'm outta here. So I won't get rich, that dream died a long time ago. What I'm interested in now is getting my life back and getting the heck out of Dodge as things unravel.

Jeremiah 50 (ASV)
14 Set yourselves in array against Babylon round about, all ye that bend the bow; shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against Jehovah.
15 Shout against her round about: she hath submitted herself; her bulwarks are fallen, her walls are thrown down; for it is the vengeance of Jehovah: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.
16 Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land.

The End of Western Globalia? – The Swarm Blog
Romain/ mai 11, 2021/ Finance/
As the economy of the West was hit by several shocks, the Roman Empire got caught in a vicious circle, meaning that wars and defeats led to weaker supply activity in some regions, resulting in economic problems everywhere, budget issues, less transfers to the legions, social unrest, and thus further military defeats, and so on.
The example of the Western Roman Empire is striking, as its collapse also led to a serious decline in terms of technology. Thus, the question is whether it is a relevant proxy for the current Western capitalist empire.
No one knows for sure, but as Ward-Perkins wrote in 2005: “Romans before the fall were as certain as we are today that their world would continue forever substantially unchanged. They were wrong. We would be wise not to repeat their complacency.”

However, Keynesian models imply a linear and unrealistic vision of the world, while practitioners have to deal with phenomena like nonlinearity or nonstationarity. Said differently, that theory makes everyone think that they can “have control” over the economic activity, which is highly misleading.
...
Why not, but an economy is a nonlinear framework, and growing imbalances may slowly drive the system towards critical points, and thus towards underestimated tail risks. One should remember that even small shocks can lead to large economic drawdowns.
...
Following Bak’s ideas, researchers Jean-Philippe Bouchaud and José Moran released a preprint paper in 2019, studying the structural instability of large economies. Considering an even more complex network of firms, where each company may be connected to the others, they found that the distribution of firm sizes develops a power tail. More interestingly, because of rigidity and heterogeneity, they showed that a large economy becomes highly unstable and vulnerable to even with small shocks.
...
With the rise of econophysics and other interdisciplinary endeavors in economics, curiosity and humility should become the norm among regulators and policy makers, as any attempt to “control the economy” could finally lead to catastrophic outcomes. As Dr Frankenstein would have said to central bankers: “never bet against nature.”

Be a thinking individual.
Learn your rights.
Speak truth to power.
Resist all things that numb you.
Don’t let technology turn you into zombies.
Help others.
Give voice to moral outrage.
Cultivate spirituality, reject materialism and put people first.
Pitch in and do your part to make the world a better place.
Say no to war.
Finally, prepare yourselves for what lies ahead.
The demons of our age—some of whom disguise themselves as politicians—delight in fomenting violence, sowing distrust and prejudice, and persuading the public to support tyranny disguised as patriotism and/or keeping us “safe.” Overcoming the evils of our age will require more than intellect and activism. It will require decency, morality, goodness, truth and toughness.
...
Wake up, stand up, and make your activism count for something more than politics in a world turned upside down.

The Age of Fear: A Graduation Message for Terrifying Times | By John & Nisha Whitehead
With all that is crashing down upon us, from government-manipulated crises to the blowback arising from a society that has repeatedly prized technological expedience and mass-marketed values over self-ownership and individual sovereignty, those coming of…
...a world turned upside down
The problem with people is that as soon as things "stay the same" for more than five minutes, they project forward that things will continue to "stay the same" right up until the moment they have their world "turned upside down".
Then they change their tune to,
"It's not supposed to be this way!"
We all fall into this trap to some degree. We get used to a routine and go on mental "autopilot" to save wear and tear on the "little gray cells".
This mindset is even recorded in the Bible:
2 Peter 3
3 knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. 4 They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”
Which scoffers St. Peter roundly chastises in the following verses!
For those with a few miles racked up on the odometer of life, an uncertain future full of inescapable change can be upsetting.
Oh dear! Our plans for a secure retirement are going up in smoke! Where will we go? What will we do?
Humanity periodically goes through catastrophic change and survives as a whole, though individuals do pass "before their time" by human reckoning.
Many deadly plagues have swept through the ancient and modern world.
The Plague of Justinian (15–100 million deaths 541–549 AD)
The Black Death (75–200 million deaths 1346–1353 AD)
The Spanish Flu (17–100 million deaths 1918–1920)
Yet humanity is still here, isn't it?
Every cohort of youth faces the challenges of their time.
World War I
The Great Depression
World War II
Except the near future for all humanity is "upside down world". All who are still in "boots on the ground" mode will get to participate, willingly or not!
We will all face the challenges of the day, not just the young.
Best to learn the forgotten art of helpfulness.
That would be a great start!

Genocidal Maniac Saint Fauci Arises After CNN Proclaims “The World Today Needs A Hitler”

Biden Needs To Clean It Up”—wherein it admits that masks have nothing at all to do with preventing the spread of COVID, and reveals that their only purpose is to keep despotic control over the American people—sees this manifesto declaring that: “The Biden administration must admit to the American people that CDC’s guidance was released prematurely and without considering all the implications and unintended consequences”—and sees this manifesto demanding that mask decisions not be left to medical science and facts, because “complex decisions need to involve other agencies and stakeholders”.

Fauci is mocked as the 'Patron Saint of Wuhan' after DC Mayor declares Christmas Eve 'Dr. Fauci Day' | Daily Mail Online
By Luke Kenton For Dailymail.com
23:50 EDT 23 Dec 2020 , updated 03:32 EDT 24 Dec 2020
DC Mayor Muriel Bowser issued the proclamation on Wednesday, marking December 24, 2020 to be 'Dr. Anthony S. Fauci Day' in the District
Fauci is a long time resident of DC and is the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, in addition to being the US' top COVID advisor
Fox News' Tucker Carlson led the charge of outrage against Bowser's proclamation, branding Fauci the 'Patron Saint of Wuhan'
Carlson also sarcastically referred to him as 'Saint Tony' and called him the 'Priest of the COVID cult' who wears a paper mask as his sacred garment
Similar disdain for Bowser’s declaration was shared by users of social media
One user called the idea of Dr. Fauci Day ‘Further proof of left wing insanity...’ while another said 'we already have a savior and his name isn't Anthony'
