As of the May 18-23 survey, 60% of U.S. adults report they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, 4% have been partially vaccinated, 12% plan to be vaccinated and 24% do not plan to be vaccinated.

A steady 53% of U.S. adults say they are worried about people choosing not to get vaccinated, including 25% who are very worried. It is now the public's greatest worry about the virus by a wide margin, surpassing concerns about lack of social distancing in their area (27%), availability of local hospital resources and supplies (11%), and availability of coronavirus tests in their area (5%),

About half of Republicans, 46%, compared with 31% of independents and 6% of Democrats, do not plan to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Americans without a college degree are much more likely than college graduates to be vaccine-hesitant, 31% to 12%.

Widespread COVID-19 vaccination has undoubtedly been a major reason behind the steep decline in infections and deaths from the disease in the U.S. in recent months.

Houston Methodist Hospital in Texas has suspended over 170 employees for two weeks without pay, after they refused to take the COVID-19 vaccine. The suspensions come after a new May policy requiring all 26,000 workers to get full courses of either the Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson vaccines by June 7 or face termination.

The hospital says 99% of its employees - 24,947 - are fully vaccinated, however a group of 178 workers who have refused and have now been punished.

What happens after the two weeks is unknown, according to the Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, 117 employees are suing the hospital, claiming that they've been pressured into becoming 'human guinea pigs'.

You would think that during the worst Pandemic since the 1918 Spanish Flu life insurance companies would be hedging their bets to avoid major losses from Covid-19. I haven’t written a life policy for several years so I was wondering what was going on? I called one of the brokers I deal with that interacts with hundreds of big life insurers to get an inside look into how the Covid crisis has changed their business.

Imagine my surprise when she said it was pretty much business as usual! Last year when the hysteria was just getting ramped up she did say the companies temporarily tightened up underwriting and reduced the amount of coverage they would offer. But as time went by and the hard data came rolling in those same companies went back to business as usual.

I asked her specifically if life insurers wanted a Covid test as part of the underwriting process and she said none that she was aware of. Hmm, that’s pretty interesting isn’t it? The most lethal pandemic in decades descends on the globe with deadly mutations taking millions of innocent lives and the life insurance companies couldn’t care less.

I also asked if the cost per thousand of coverage had increased due to Covid and again she said no. Rates were pretty much the same as they were before the Covid Pandemic ravaged the earth. Life Insurance companies are very risk adverse. They don’t like losing money to unnecessary claims. The fact they’re treating Covid as a nonevent should be an indicator that something is very wrong with the whole narrative.

The state’s program called “Vax to the Max” has a grand prize of $5 million, the largest single cash award being offered by any state with a similar program. (Related: SPOOKY: Health Ranger predicted “vaccine lottery” ten years ago, now Ohio just announced a $1 million vaccine lottery for experimental covid injections.)

The prize money offered by New Mexico would go far in the state that is one of the poorest in the country – ranking 48th in per capita income of around $45,800, according to the Department of Commerce‘s Bureau of Economic Analysis.

To be eligible for New Mexico’s cash awards, a person must be a resident of the state, register for the drawing, be at least 18, not be incarcerated and have received at least one vaccine dose in the state. A person must be fully vaccinated to win the grand prize, according to the program’s website.

New Mexico officials are hoping cash rewards will increase vaccination rates in the state. Nearly 56 percent of New Mexico’s 1,680,605 residents age 16 and older who are eligible are fully vaccinated, according to the New Mexico Department of Health website.

It can now be said publicly: The massive public campaign to convince and even compel the world to accept the idea that SARS-CoV2, the virus that causes COVID-19, arose naturally from a meat market in Wuhan was a hoax.

The gory details are contained in a bombshell investigative report in the magazine Vanity Fair. This alone is surprising. Vanity Fair is a culture and trends magazine, not noted for this type of serious inquiry. Yet Katherine Eban’s in-depth article is thoroughly researched, with multiple named sources, and written in the style of a detective story.

The first question to ask is: How did we get a scientific and media consensus that SARS-CoV2 originally came from the Wuhan meat market?  The answer is a group letter signed by leading virologists that appeared in the reputable science publication The Lancet. This article dismissed theories that suggested SARS-CoV2 might have come from the Wuhan lab as “conspiracy theories” that had were flatly rejected by the scientific community.

When Daszak learned that a virus was causing global havoc, he moved quickly to line up a group of virologists to declare, without any persuasive evidence whatever, that COVID-19 had a natural origin.

It might seem puzzling why prominent scientists would agree to sign a letter taking a position on something for which there is no valid scientific evidence.

Daszak explained that neither he nor Baric should sign the declaration “so it has some distance from us and therefore doesn’t work in a counterproductive way.”

Russian scientists have published new research this week that shows a tiny animal called a Bdelloid rotifer can be revived after frozen for tens of thousands of years. 

On Monday, the paper noscriptd "A living bdelloid rotifer from 24,000-year-old Arctic permafrost" was published in Cell.com's "Current Biology" section, which stated the Bdelloid rotifer are some of the toughest multicellular animals of their kind, able to be frozen for thousands of years then revived.

Researchers believed the Bdelloid rotifer could only survive deep freezes for up to a decade until Monday's paper. With radiocarbon dating, researchers were able to date the worm-like animal to 24,000 years old. 

Once thawed, the worm was capable of eating. It was also able to reproduce - which researchers explained it could do without a partner.

A living bdelloid rotifer from 24,000-year-old Arctic permafrost

In natural, permanently frozen habitats, some organisms may be preserved for hundreds to tens of thousands of years. For example, stems of Antarctic moss were successfully regrown from an over millennium-old sample covered by ice for about 400 years. Likewise, whole campion plants were regenerated from seed tissue preserved in relict 32,000-year-old permafrost, and nematodes were revived from the permafrost of two localities in northeastern Siberia, with source sediments dated over 30,000 years BP. Bdelloid rotifers, microscopic multicellular animals, are known for their ability to survive extremely low temperatures. Previous reports suggest survival after six to ten years when frozen between −20° to 0°C4. Here, we report the survival of an obligate parthenogenetic bdelloid rotifer, recovered from northeastern Siberian permafrost radiocarbon-dated to ∼24,000 years BP. This constitutes the longest reported case of rotifer survival in a frozen state.

Cryobiology is the study of biological material that is at below normal temperatures. One example of this material is the body of the wood frog in winter. This amazing animal survives months of hibernation with much of its body frozen and without a beating heart. In most other animals, when the heart stops beating, the animal is dead. This is not true for wood frogs, however. Despite the almost complete shut-down of their bodies, the frogs aren't harmed by freezing and become active again when the warmer temperatures of spring arrive.
