Ikea Is Now Selling Tiny Homes For Broke Millennials  | ZeroHedge

SATURDAY, FEB 27, 2021

Ikea launched the Tiny Home Project to capitalize on this trend. The 187-square-foot structure, or what could be viewed as a trailer, but commonly known as a "tiny home" to hipsters, is equipped with renewable, reusable, and recycled materials for inside furnishings, solar panels on the roof, running water, kitchen, and a ductless heat pump and air conditioner unit.

Under the guise of eco-conscious minimalists, millennials who gravitate towards tiny homes don't realize that their living standard has collapsed. Say goodbye to the McMansion of the late 90s and early 2000s, and hello, to the double-wide trailer.

https://www.thoughtco.com/what-is-a-manufactured-home-4046007

Historic prefab structures include Sears Houses, Lustron Houses, and Katrina Cottages.

A manufactured home is a structure that is constructed almost entirely in a factory and rests on a permanent chassis. The house is placed on a steel chassis (a supporting frame) and transported to the building site. The wheels can be removed but the chassis stays in place.

"Manufactured homes are constructed on a chassis consisting of main steel beams and cross members; fitted axles, leaf springs, and wheels making up the running gear; and a steel hitch assembly. After the home is sited, the chassis frame distributes the manufactured home loads to the foundation system. The hitch assembly is generally removed for appearance purposes."— FEMA P-85, Protecting Manufactured Homes from Floods and Other Hazards (2009) Chapter 2
Thoughts

In other words, a manufactured home is a trailer pretending to be a house. Dead giveaway: There is no true foundation. Just a "skirting" made of plastic or metal that runs around the bottom for cosmetic purposes. After a few years it deteriorates and becomes a favored home for various creatures of the night.

It's not bad if kept up. It will never be as warm in winter or cool in summer as a properly insulated "real" house.

Downside: Although you might imagine it could be easily moved to another site, usually no. It may have a "chassis" but is not designed to be moved.

Small versions like a "field office" can be relocated on a flatbed trailer. (Funny, that. Those are more like the now-trendy "tiny houses".)

Better than living in a travel trailer, though. A long version can have about 800 sq ft of space. A real "upgrade" would be a "double wide" in the local vernacular.

In most localities a rented efficiency apartment must provide at least 200-250 square feet of living space. So the latest "tiny houses" provide even less than that.

Out here west of the Missouri River, most people live in what used to be termed "temporary" housing aka manufactured homes.

At least it's an upgrade from sleeping on the hard ground in a tent or living out of a car or van!

Indoor plumbing is a real blessing!

The Danger of the Administrative State – AIER

Ethan Yang
– February 27, 2021

The drastic expansion of the administrative state has come at a cost to not only our liberty, which is slowly being eroded by a sea of paperwork and regulations, but it also undermines our democracy. According to Article 1 of the Constitution, the legislative branch or Congress is supposed to be the primary law-making body of our government. That is because if there are bad laws or laws society doesn’t like, we can hold people accountable. However, more and more power has been shifted to the executive branch because of the growth of the administrative state. Even the judicial system is losing power to the administrative state after the establishment of a legal doctrine known as Chevron Deference, which binds the court system to defer to the administrative agency’s interpretation of a rule, not the Constitutional interpretation of a sitting judge. It shouldn’t be too hard to assume that the interpretation will probably favor the ambitions of the agency, not the integrity of the Constitution. These issues and more form the basis of legal scholar Richard Epstein’s assertion that the administrative state is not congruent with rule of law in this country.

Why the Capitol Riot Terrified the Elite | Mises Wire

02/25/2021
James Ketler

It may appear that the state holds power over the people, but in reality the converse is true; it is the people en bloc who—by choosing to obey or not obey—hold ultimate power over the state. The only way a state can enforce its laws at all is if the people overall acquiesce to it. If sufficiently widespread, political resistance would disrupt the status quo to such a degree as to render its function completely ineffectual. In the final analysis, it is the people who hold the power.

Financial False Hope, by Steve Penfield - The Unz Review

28 Feb 2021

This essay will consider the claims of “good” inflation, the natural market tendency of deflation and the reality of money multiplying that few insiders dare to admit. It will likewise expand on the issue of bank counterfeiting and introduce a suggestion for broadening that “stimulating” privilege to the rest of us. The false sense of security of trying to “regulate” corrupt banking activity will get some overdue attention. Along the way, I’ll briefly address some problems of monopoly patent “rights,” since easy bank money funds this corporate welfare racket that hurts actual innovators (noting once again, our mainstream media’s refusal to do their job on this important topic as well). Then I will venture into uncharted waters of critically reviewing the popular new traditions of relying on corporate “benefits” in lieu of intact families and financial interdependence, along with the practice of quitting your job and handing your life’s savings to empty bank vaults and Wall Street gamblers.

Officials Reach New Low, Say Moist Masks Are Good for You

Analysis by Dr. Joseph Mercola
March 01, 2021

A study from the National Institutes of Health claims wearing a moist mask is actually good for you because inhaling through the wet mask hydrates your lungs and boosts your immune system

However, it’s important to realize that the humidity inside the mask will rapidly allow pathogenic bacteria to grow and multiply. This is a documented fact not addressed by the NIH

Medical doctors have warned that bacterial pneumonia, facial rashes, fungal infections on the face, “mask mouth” (bad breath, tooth decay and gum inflammation) and candida mouth infections are all on the rise

By breathing through a bacteria-infested mask, you risk inhaling bacteria deep into your lungs, and according to recent research, the presence of microbes in your lungs can worsen lung cancer pathogenesis and contribute to advanced stage lung cancer

Face masks can also reduce oxygen intake, leading to hazardous oxygen deficiency (hypoxia), along with rapid accumulation of harmful carbon dioxide, which can have significant cognitive and physical impacts

Mask expert warns Dr. Deena Hinshaw mask use will not protect against COVID-19 - Todayville

9 Sept 2020

Viruses don’t just enter us through our mouth and nose, but can also enter through our eyes and even the pores of our skin. The only effective barrier one can wear to protect against virus exposure would be a fully encapsulated hazmat suit with cuffs by ankles taped to boots and cuffs by wrists taped to gloves, while receiving breathing air from a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).

This barrier is standard gear to protect against a biohazard (viruses) and would have to be worn in a possible virus hazard environment 24/7 and you wouldn’t be able to remove any part of it even to have a sip of water, eat or use the washroom while in the virus environment. If you did, you would become exposed and would negate all the prior precautions you had taken.”

MSA AirHawk II Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus: Advantage 4000 Model
The above is an example of the protective gear discussed by Chris Schaefer, Director of SafeCom Training Services Inc. in Edmonton. Even medical staff are not using such gear unless they are working in a level 4 bioweapons lab!

Lightweight, durable SCBA builds on the success of the established AirHawk air mask by providing options not typically offered in an industrial air mask

$2,783.80 - $5,151.05
SCBA gear is the land version of more well known underwater diving equipment.

Scuba diving is a mode of underwater diving where the diver uses a self-contained underwater breathing apparatus (scuba), which is completely independent of surface supply, to breathe underwater.

My advising us to “live local” is a war strategy.

It’s not inaction.

When citizens are strong & independent (2A bolsters all other Rights, educated children correspond to bright future, & supply chain localization mitigates global monopolies), they are tough to conquer.

Be a hard target.

Be hard to kill.

Be hard to conquer.

Focusing on the national-level stuff (what’s Trump doing, what EO did Biden sign, what evil laws are the godless commies passing today) distracts you from securing the local stuff.

And if you focus on local, and they focus on local, and I focus on local, then we can put our locals together and present a stronger front.

Unlike the godless commies, we are not wanting a one-size fits all solution.

The Founders understood that freedom is best expressed at the individual level.

Invert the paradigm. Understand national/global events & news, but don’t let those arrest you from asserting influence on the local level.

People don’t follow noscripts.

People follow courage.

While humans on the ground are safe from the effects of the SAA, ISS computers and satellites in orbit around Earth are not so lucky. When they pass through the anomaly, they get bombarded with high levels of radiation that mess up with their components.

Comment:
Don't be too quick to assume things on the surface of planet earth will not be affected. That attitude smacks of "Nothing to see here. Move along!"

If earth's magnetic field is weak enough to allow radiation from space to "fry" satellite and space station electronics, who knows how it will affect living creatures down on the surface, especially highly sensitive nervous system functions.

We are already suffering from twice as much cell damaging UV-C. And they used to tell us not to worry about that as well. Supposedly UV-C couldn't reach the surface. Well, they were wrong and it does!☀️
