The genus Methylobacterium contains more species than any other genera within the family Methylobacteriaceae, order Rhizobiales, and class Alphaproteobacteria (Kelly et al., 2014). Methylobacterium species are Gram-negative, rod-shaped bacteria. The genus was first proposed by Patt et al. (1976) with Methylobacterium organophilum as the type species. The genus Methylobacterium was first emended to include facultative methylotrophs that have the ability to grow on methane or methanol as the source of carbon and energy, in addition to sugars and organic acids (Patt et al., 1976).

The Reykjanes Peninsula hadn't seen an eruption of any volcano in 781 years, though there had been signs of a possible eruption recently, with earthquakes occurring daily for the past three weeks.
But volcanologists were still taken by surprise because the seismic activity had calmed down before the eruption.

There were no immediate reports of damage, and the country's meteorological agency lifted the tsunami advisory warning around an hour after the earthquake.
Miyagi prefecture was heavily damaged during the huge earthquake and tsunami of 2011, which saw waves over 40 meters high and killed over 15,000 people.

An alien emerges and Helen moves forward to greet it; but amidst the confusion, the alien is shot. A gigantic humanoid robot appears and temporarily disables everything in the vicinity by emitting a high pitched noise before the wounded alien voices the command "Klaatu barada nikto" to shut down the robot's defensive response.
