Scottish government denies it recognizes masks are harmful
According to Section 53 of the Adult Support & Protection (Scotland) Act 2007: "Harm includes all harmful conduct and in particular, includes, conduct which causes physical harm and conduct which causes psychological harm (for example: by causing fear, alarm or distress)." On November 2nd 2022, the Daily Sceptic published my article which set out the steps leading to the removal of routine mask-wearing in social care settings in Scotland. The Daily Sceptic noscriptd the article, "Scottish Government finally admits that mask-wearing is harmful." The article has been shared thousands of times on social media, attracting the attention of fact-checkers who asserted that the Government did not deem masks were harmful. A Scottish Government spokesperson told fact-checkers at Reuters that the article was a "gross distortion of what the Government has said". He or she also stated that the guidance was "relaxed in line with the latest clinical advice after a sharp drop in infections and a...

Over 50 countries vote against UN anti-Nazism resolution
A UN resolution opposing the celebration of Nazism and related ideologies has met with significant resistance from the US and its allies, with 52 countries voting against it on Friday. The draft resolution "Combating glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fueling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance," introduced by Russia's representative to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia, was adopted with 105 votes in support. In addition to the 52 votes against, 15 countries abstained. The resolution expresses concern about glorifying Nazism, neo-Nazism and former Waffen SS members, and condemns the construction of monuments and the holding of public ceremonies honoring the Third Reich. Introducing the resolution, the Russian delegate referenced an increase in xenophobia, anti-migrant sentiment, Islamophobia and anti-Semitism, among other forms of discrimination.

The Great Reset: A Perfect Storm
Storms come in many forms and may consist of many different constituent elements, but when all these elements combine at the same critical moment, we call it a "perfect storm." When such a storm is transposed analogically to the cultural, political, and economic realms, that is, when it seems to impact the entire social environment, we have no choice but to grasp its significance and prepare for its onset by taking protective measures. Such a storm is now upon us. All its elements clearly point to an orchestrated intention; in other words, it cannot be an accident. And the intention we discern in the current historical moment, the underlying plan, would appear to lay the ground for what has been called a "techno-totalitarian digital dark age," associated with the Club of Rome, the United Nations, and the World Economic Forum, that is, what has come to be known as the Great Reset — the corporate takeover of property, health, currency, travel, energy, and sustenance. The upshot...

Closest known black hole to Earth discovered after years-long hunt
The dormant black hole is named Gaia BH1 and is located about 1,600 light-years away Astronomers have reportedly discovered the closest-known black hole to Earth. BH1 was located about 1,600 light-years away in the constellation Ophiuchus, making it three times nearer to Earth than the previous record holder. The dormant black hole is about 10 times more massive than the sun, according to astronomers using the International Gemini Observatory. The observatory is operated by the National Science Foundation's NOIRLab. In a release, NOIRLab said this marked the first unambiguous detection of a dormant stellar-mass black hole in the Milky Way. There are an estimated 100 million stellar-mass black holes in the Milky Way alone, with nearly all of them active.

Vodka Nan quietly turfed out? Decision to replace Nancy Pelosi made in September following 'secret' meeting
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi could be on her way out of the Democratic Party's leadership role, according to a Friday report. Politico reported that the battle to succeed her actually began Sept. 1 during a "secret" meeting between Reps. Hakeem Jeffries of New York and House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn of South Carolina. "Jeffries, the fifth-ranking House Democrat who aspires to be the first-ranking House Democrat in the next Congress, was picking up heightened chatter from colleagues about California Rep. Adam Schiff's outreach expressing his own interest in the top caucus job," the report noted.

Russian sanctions is causing US diesel shortages, supplies won't recover until summer
Last week, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that distillate inventories were at their lowest levels since 2008. (The primary distillates are diesel, jet fuel ,and heating oil). However, in 2008 distillate levels were low coming out of spring. Currently, they are low going into fall. That's far worse than the situation in 2008. Distillate demand generally spikes in spring — when farmers are planting crops — and in fall, when they are harvesting those crops and people start buying fuel oil for winter. Thus, a low distillate inventory in late April 2008 isn't quite as serious as a low inventory in October 2022. In fact, distillate inventories haven't been this low in October since the EIA began reporting this data in 1982. These low distillate inventories are why diesel prices are above $5.00 a gallon nationwide, even though the nationwide average price for gasoline has dropped below $4.00 a gallon.

Italy stops 250 male migrants from disembarking 'rescue' ships, allows children & people with medical issues
Charities have branded the actions of the Italian government "illegal" after it prevented 250 people disembarking two migrant rescue ships. Comment: 250 'people' - note how the BBC intentionally avoids reporting that they are adult males. There are 215 blocked on the Geo Barents and 35 on Humanity 1. Children and people with medical issues were allowed to leave the ships in Catania, Sicily, but others were not. Two other rescue boats remain at sea.

Oh, please. Stacey Abrams says poll numbers low because black men can't see through misinformation
Georgia gubernatorial hopeful Stacey Abrams (D) claimed over the weekend that her poll numbers were lagging in part because black men were unable to see through the "misinformation" that was being used to target them. According to the latest polls at RealClearPolitics, Abrams trails incumbent Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R) by anywhere from 6 points into double digits — and she laid out her explanation for those numbers during a recent appearance on MSNBC.

Why is the US government pursuing war with Russia-China but NOT PREPARING FOR war with Russia-China?
The entity in Washington that calls itself the government seems to be hell-bent on war with Russia-China-Iran, deliberately placing itself on a collision course that can only lead to World War III. And if World War II was exponentially more bloody and deadly than World War I, we should assume that World War III will be exponentially more bloody and deadly than World War II. And yet this entity in Washington is not acting like a government preparing for what would be the biggest, nastiest, most devastating war in the history of mankind, involving all manner of weapons, conventional and non-conventional, of mass destruction. We are not talking about Iraq under Saddam Hussein, or Afghanistan under the Taliban. This entity in Washington is poking a bear that has the world's largest and most sophisticated nuclear arsenal on the one hand (Russia) and the world's largest standing army (China) on the other. Our enemies, Russia and China, are stockpiling wheat and petroleum in preparation...

Explosions rip through chemical plant on US coast, multiple neighborhoods evacuated
Neighborhoods and schools were evacuated or ordered to shelter in place after an 'uncontrolled fire' erupted at a chemical plant on Georgia's coast. Multiple explosions at the Symrise chemical plant in Brunswick on Monday morning led to officials ordering neighborhoods and schools within a mile of the plant to evacuate and those within three miles to shelter in place. Symrise's describes its company as 'creating inspiring fragrance, flavor, natural nutrition, and cosmetic ingredient solutions.' The chemical that ignited the fire was hydrogen peroxide pinene, according to WTOC.

6 election security threats to watch for on Election Day
The midterms face a bevy of digital threats, from stolen Twitter accounts to hacked election websites, that could spark chaos, confusion and unrest that last long after the polls close. The 2020 presidential election was rife with allegations of voting machine hacks that were later debunked. Yet there are real risks that hackers could tunnel into voting equipment and other election infrastructure to try to undermine Tuesday's vote. Comment: This has got to be one of the most hilarious bits of regime newspeak to grace the pages of the mainstream press recently. Back when there was the danger that Trump would be re-elected, you see, there was no danger and, in fact, no election fraud. Now that the Democrats are in danger of losing seats, those dangers magically appear. The U.S. has many safeguards protecting voting equipment, so any actual hack would probably be localized, quickly detected and unlikely to affect final results. But as 2020 showed, even an attempt to change votes — or...

5,000-year-old ring made in Iraq, with silver from Turkey found in Oman
Muscat - A team of international archaeologists working under the auspices of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has recovered an exceptional collection of silver jewellery from a prehistoric grave of the 3rd millennium BC in Dahwa in North Batinah. The collection includes parts of necklaces with beads and several rings. Researchers involved in the study also found a silver ring, likely made in Mesopotamia (Iraq), made of silver from Anatolia (Turkey) for an individual who had links with the Indus Valley Civilisation (Pakistan and western India). "This shows the complexity of commercial and cultural interactions in Eurasian prehistory, which can definitely be regarded as the prototype for modern global exchanges," said Dr Dennys Frenez, an Italian expert in ancient trade between the Indus Valley and Oman and a collaborator with the ministry. The international team is led by Prof Kimberly Williams from Temple University, Philadelphia, US, and includes Prof Nasser al Jahwari and...

Crowds of people poured onto the streets of Rome on Saturday to call for peace in Ukraine. The demonstrators also demanded that the Italian government stop providing Kiev with weapons and engage with Russia diplomatically instead. The rally saw tens of thousands of people turn out, including members of labor unions and Catholic associations, students and a variety of other activists. They were carrying rainbow flags bearing the words "peace" and "non-violence." Other slogans heard and seen during the demonstration included "Weapons down, wages up," "Enough arms to Ukraine," and "We don't want war. No weapons, no sanctions. Where is diplomacy?"

EU, US must address protectionist U.S. inflation act that threatens European companies - German finance minister
Germany wants dialogue with Washington rather than tit-for-tat measures to ease trade tensions triggered by the U.S Inflation Reduction Act, which could harm European businesses and industry, Germany's finance minister said on Monday. Christian Lindner said a task force set up between the United States and the European Union should address the issue urgently. "The correct path now is to seek dialogue with the U.S. administration in order to exchange concerns and find common ways in which our economic interests can be combined," Lindner said ahead of talks with his Eurogroup counterparts in Brussels. "I have not been assured that the American side has completely grasped how great our concerns about the consequences are," he told reporters, while expressing confidence that solutions could be found. Comment: Perhaps the US simply doesn't care because it knows that, at the moment, Europe is its vassal.

Flames engulf 35-story residential building in downtown Dubai
A fire broke out early Monday at a 35-story high-rise in downtown Dubai near the world's tallest building, racing up the side of the structure in the same way seen in other blazes fueled by flammable siding material. A resident at the 8 Boulevard Walk told The Associated Press that the high-rise has cladding that officials planned to replace after a similar blaze tore through an iconic tower on New Year's Eve in 2015. However, that cladding was not replaced across the entire building, said the resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals. Emaar Properties, the giant state-backed developer behind 8 Boulevard Walk and the nearby Burj Khalifa, which towers over the burned high-rise, did not respond to requests for comment about the building's cladding. Nor did the city-state's Dubai Media Office.

Elon Musk takes a side: 'I recommend voting for a Republican Congress'
Billionaire Twitter CEO Elon Musk endorsed Republicans for the midterm election cycle on Monday, telling voters to cast ballots for a Republican Congress. Musk's announcement comes months after he first announced plans to vote Republican earlier this year. He argued Monday that having a government split between two parties is ideal, and noted President Biden's possession of the White House for Democrats before saying Congress should go to Republicans. "To independent-minded voters: Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic," Musk wrote.

And? 'Putin's chef' Prigozhin admits to US election interference
"We interfered, we interfere and we will interfere," said Yevgeny Prigozhin, who is widely known as "Putin's Chef" for his company's catering contracts with the Kremlin. He's also on the FBI's most-wanted list. Yevgeny Prigozhin, a close associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin -- both of whom have been sanctioned by Washington and European countries -- has admitted Moscow interferes with U.S. elections and vowed to continue to do so. In a post on his Telegram social media channel on November 7, Prigozhin, widely known as "Putin's Chef" for his company's catering contracts with the Kremlin, responded bluntly to a question from a follower asking about Russian efforts to influence elections in the United States by saying, "We interfered, we interfere and we will interfere."

Unexpected solar flare caused radio blackouts in Australia and New Zealand
The flare was accompanied by a coronal mass ejection that missed Earth. A surprise solar flare has burst from an area of dense magnetism on the sun's surface, causing a temporary radio blackout in parts of Australia and all of New Zealand. The M5-class, medium-strength solar flare was recorded by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory as it erupted from the sunspot AR3141 at 7:11 p.m. ET on Sunday (Nov. 6). The flare created a rush of radiation that ionized Earth's atmosphere, according to spaceweather.com. Sunspots are dark regions on the sun's surface where powerful magnetic fields, created by the flow of electrical charges, knot into kinks before suddenly snapping. The resulting release of energy launches bursts of radiation called solar flares and explosive jets of solar material called coronal mass ejections (CMEs). A CME did accompany this flare, but it was not aimed at Earth. The solar flare erupted unexpectedly and took scientists by surprise. "Our apologies there was no alert...

Indiana Dem poll worker ejected for pre-selecting 'straight Dem ticket' on voting machine, calling Rs 'racist'
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office has reportedly opened an investigation into James Zheng An Indiana election office reportedly ejected a Democrat poll worker over allegations that he had pressured poll-goers against voting for certain candidates and even pre-selected Democratic candidates on a voting machine last week, local election officials told Fox News. The incidents took place at a polling place in Carmel, Indiana, under the Hamilton County Election Office. Hamilton County election administrator Beth Sheller declined to confirm the poll worker's identity in an interview with Fox News Digital, but detailed a report from the inspector at the polling location. Sheller stated that the inspector had learned of two separate incidents that may constitute electioneering and election interference. The poll worker, first identified by Chalkboard Review executive director Tony Kinnett as James Zheng, is now reportedly being investigated by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, and...
