The campaign against ICE is all about open borders

Most of the recent vitriolic opposition to ICE is a feint by unrepentant open-borders progressives.

They won the first round when Joe Biden was elected president, lost the second when Donald Trump returned to office, and are back for a rematch.

Democratic leaders portray ICE agents as violent Gestapo thugs and murderers.

They claim ICE kidnaps good people off the street, rips apart their families and communities, and deprives them of due process.

Tom Pappert, lead reporter at The Tennessee Star, criticized the handling of Nashville's recent ice storm, highlighting what he described as systemic mismanagement by city officials and the Nashville Electric Service (NES) board.

More than 108,000 NES customers remained without power Wednesday morning after an ice storm swept through the region over the weekend.

The utility company has since faced criticism after multiple union members and contractors reported that NES declined offers of assistance from available linemen to restore service.

Zero Hour approaching

The hour is getting late.

Virtually all pieces of the puzzle are falling into place.

Even as his "massive armada" is being deployed, neo-Caligula social posts/vociferates to Iran: "MAKE A DEAL" (originally in caps). That's maximum pressure in effect.

Not even the possibility of negotiation.

🇺🇦🇻🇪Will the CIA turn Venezuela into Ukraine 2.0?

A base in Caracas would give the agency a platform to dramatically expand its operations in Latin America.

The CIA is setting up a permanent outpost in Venezuela, from where it will reportedly replicate its work in Ukraine.

That could mean anything from controlling local politicians to turning the country into a forward operating base for regime change.

With Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in US custody and acting President Delcy Rodriguez cooperating with Washington, America's "priority number one" is to establish a CIA "annex" in Caracas, an anonymous US source told CNN on Tuesday.

The Maduro operation: Five insights on power and international relations

Key messages The capture of Nicolás Maduro marks a turning point that goes beyond Venezuela.

The US operation not only abruptly changes Venezuela's internal political balance; it also clearly exposes the structural tensions of today's international system.

Rather than engaging in a normative debate -legitimate and necessary- about the legality or legitimacy of the operation, this paper focuses on what the episode reveals about how central actors actually behave in a context of geopolitical competition, where power and strategic interests prevail.

Donald Trump must be taken very seriously.

🇵🇸The U.S. plan for Gaza has nothing in it for Palestinians

The latest piece of the future U.S. plan for Gaza was revealed last week by the U.S. President's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, at the inaugural ceremony of Trump's "Board of Peace." Kushner's presentation included a map of how Gaza would look like after reconstruction, including industrial zones, residential blocks, and tourism beaches.

The plan advertises a new Rafah and a new Gaza City, completely separate from each other.

Meanwhile, the edges of the Strip — which once served as Gaza's farmland and bread basket — would now be home to industrial complexes.

Kushner's plan doesn't foresee any restoration of Palestinian neighborhoods or villages, and offers no place for natural Palestinian life.

Britain's Atlantic subordination

Our place in the world is clear Mythology does not record whether Cassandra, whose double curse was the gift of prophecy fated to be ignored, felt at least some glimmers of satisfaction as her city of Troy burned around her.

On the evidence of Davos, perhaps her penultimate indignity, before capture and death, was to watch those who dragged the wooden horse within the walls, against her fervent warnings, pose, too late, as hard-nosed sceptics of Greek magnanimity.

Trump Officials Held Secret Meetings With Prominent Canadian Group Seeking To Secede

A new bombshell report in Financial Times says that US officials have held recent talks with Canadian separatists seeking to break Alberta, Canada's oil-rich western province, away from Ottawa.

"Officials in the [US President] Donald Trump administration discussed loaning Alberta $500 million to break up Canada and make it the 51st state," one source told the FT. This follows on the heels of Trump earlier this month posting a fictitious map showing Canada as part of the United States.

The report also comes days after Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's speech in Davos before the World Economic Forum (WEF). He called out President Trump for creating a "rupture" in the existing world order.

Carney has also told his parliament, "The world has changed.
