Maduro is not the legitimate President of Venezuela, and criminal and terrorist structures operate from that country, seriously threatening regional peace and security.

Now a greater task begins. The governments of Latin America must ensure that the entire regime apparatus relinquishes power and is held accountable; coordinate the safe and swift return of Venezuelans to their country; support the restoration of their democratic system; and advance the effective regional fight against drug trafficking and organized crime.

Democracy is defended with conviction, coordination, and unwavering respect for international law.
