am trying to build a cloud storage, nothing serious just wanted to implement it. I only did the dashboard ui I wonder how hard the actual logic would be.
Today, I tried running shadcn website locally but ended up lagging and crashing my pc, that answers my question of “why do most devs own a mac? ” we need those M chips to run huge projects. noted.

Better auth compiled tho, works fine, maybe a little laggy. guess my pc isn’t completely doomed.
I was playing around with branches for my project and suddenly got this achievements, If you want it on ur own account just create a branch and marge to main (on your own repo). I didn't think it was that simple.....but it is.

Every Linux user (at least me) spends like 70% of their time in the terminal, and cd is the usual way to move around.

But have you seen a better version of cd? Check out zoxide 👉 https://github.com/ajeetdsouza/zoxide

Just type z <folder-name> and it teleports you there no need to remember the full name, path or capitalization.
It’s simple, fast, and honestly should be the default!
I don’t like booting into windows but I just need that microsoft word…… Libreoffice, it’s just not it bro😔
I had a goal to go through all of reacts documentation….to get a better picture of all the hooks but there are so many niche hooks u will probably never use, like this one, generates an id for accessibility attributes. (like Y?)

to be honest the only important hooks are:
useState
useContext
useMemo
useRef
useCallback
useActionState
useReducer

the others are way to niche in my opinion.

I was doing speed comparisons between zed, neovim and vscode. Specifically when i first open a new project.

🥇 Neovim, less than 0.5 second
🥈 Zed, less than 1 second
🥉 Vscode, more than 12 seconds

I wasn’t surprised about Neovim but Zed is unbelievable fast, this was my first time using it and sheesh🔥🔥. Genuinely couldn’t see the speed difference between Zed and Neovim, mind you Neovim is as light as you can get. If you’re still using Vscode I highly suggest u try out Zed.

I used to get confused about why useReducer is used over useState in same cases so I wrote a little example showing why You might use it. The one on the left is using useReducer while the one on the right is using useState. Basically just makes your component cleaner.

so… for my google drive project the database I was using only gives me 1GB on free tier, so assuming only 10 people actually login. The lucky 10 of you will get 100MB of free cloud storage for life 🔥🔥👏.

Take a look at this, so apparently you can call this directive “use server”, so that next js can run this code in the server instead of the client. Similar to how you would use “useActionState”. But you can write a server logic right inside the client component, never really thought about it this way.

🚀 Finally wrapped up SBM – Snippet & Boilerplate Manager!

A place where you can store, copy, and share your code snippets with friends. The UI didn’t turn out exactly as I imagined😂, but it’s all good — the functionality is solid.

Check it out:

💡 This was my first time using TanStack Query, and what a learning experience! Picked up so much.

Tech stack: React + Node (Express) + TanStack Query + Zustand

⭐️ If you find it useful, a star would mean a lot for support! Thanks!
