daily reminder to start using Linux and stop using anything made by microsoft while there is still time. the slaughter™ to come is beyond your imagination.
to all the newcomers: you don't have to pay to fully operate your computer. I don't. not even talking about piracy here. there are free and open source alternatives to most of the things you would ever want to use. microsoft, on the other hand, wants all of them dead (they have declared a war upon it long time ago and now want open source to be dependent on them). stop using windows (seriously, things like ubuntu are absolutely usable even if you are far from IT), stop using vs code, at least give gitlab a chance not to be fully dependent on github, which has been bought by microsoft. also consider contributing to open source to make the world more free.
how microsoft is killing Atom, the most modern and user-friendly open source editor of our time, in favour of their VS Code editor:

Windows 11 vs. Linux Performance For Intel Core i9 12900K In Mid-2022
Last year when the Intel Core i9 12900K 'Alder Lake' processor launched, Windows 11 was outperforming Linux to much surprise in general but explainable due to some late Linux kernel patches around Intel's hybrid architecture.
