The chemical spill in East Palestine has contaminated the Ohio river and soil in areas surrounding, The Ohio river feeds agriculture in neighboring states. Everything in the US runs on corn. It's almost impossible to have a meal that hasn't had corn added to it or used as a feedstock to produce part of it.
There's no reason that farmers would have to test their corn for contamination, and once it's sold there's no way for a consumer to track where it's from. Come August, potentially contaminated sweet corn will make it's way across the US and into our lives.
