The old Brubeck-milestone network will be permanently deleted next week, on Friday 26th of September 2025. The old network has been replaced by the current Streamr 1.0 network since early 2024, and there should be no significant usage in Brubeck anymore.

The Brubeck network's trackers and storage nodes will be shut down, and any stored data on the storage nodes will be deleted. By now, we assume this will not impact anyone's production applications, but in case of any concerns please get in touch with the Streamr team.

This marks the first live connection between StreamrTV/App the Network, and $DATA incentives.

What’s live now

🔸 Streamr Network Operator nodes automatically join StreamrTV streams
🔸 Operators earn DATA for supporting live video, handled by AutoStaker
🔸 A new Network graph view shows which Operators are connected to a stream

How it works

🔸 StreamrTV now automatically creates Streamr sponsorships for live streams.
🔸 Operator nodes running AutoStaker join those streams via the Hub and provide connectivity, improving reliability, especially for globally distributed viewers.

Verify it yourself

🔸 Start a StreamrTV broadcast
🔸 Go live → Settings → Network graph
🔸 Click refresh to watch Operator nodes attach
🔸 Inspect connections via browser WebRTC tools or the live crawler

Why this matters

Live video is now running over the same decentralized pub/sub infrastructure that powers the Streamr Network.

Security remains unchanged

Operator nodes cannot see or inspect your stream. They never receive encryption keys.

Important note

Sponsorships currently support all StreamrTV streams for a limited time.

In the future, this becomes a premium feature funded by subnoscriptions.

When premium tiers launch, fiat subnoscription revenue will be used to acquire $DATA to pay for sponsorships.

This lays the groundwork for deeper StreamrTV + Streamr Network integration. More to come!

The shift toward dynamic sponsorships on Streamr App streams is accelerating, with more reward tokens flowing to live usage of the network.

⚠️ Important $DATA update (Binance Chain)

Binance will close $DATA deposits & withdrawals on Binance Chain starting tomorrow (16th Jan 2026).

Going forward, $DATA on Binance will be Ethereum-only.

There’s no alternative Binance bridge available right now, so if you plan to move chains, please do so today or tomorrow via Binance.

For anyone with $DATA remaining on Binance Chain after this, the core team is working on a longer-term solution and will share updates in due course.

Streamr App Alpha is now open!

We’re opening early access to the Streamr App, a security-first, serverless video conferencing app designed to keep communication direct and between people.

Important:

This alpha has been tested on macOS (Apple Silicon) desktop using Chrome and Safari.

Expect rough edges. That’s why we’re releasing it now.

What’s included in the Alpha:

Video conferencing + chat,
End-to-end encrypted calls,
Unlimited meeting length,
Unlimited attendees (up to 10 speakers),
Browser-based, no downloads,

Known issue: closing the window on Safari does not properly remove you from call, a still image will remain.

Branding update to come soon.

We’re disappointed to confirm that Binance will delist $DATA on 13 February 2026.

Binance does not provide advance notice. Once the monitoring tag was applied earlier this year, we took immediate action to defend the listing, including improving order book liquidity and running a trading campaign.

We’ve reviewed Binance guidelines carefully and don’t believe Streamr is in major conflict with them. Despite solid metrics and clear improvements, Binance still chose to delist for reasons unknown to us.

While this is a setback, it’s not the end of the road. $DATA remains listed on top-tier exchanges like KuCoin and is tradable on DEXes such as Uniswap on Ethereum and Polygon. Liquidity is expected to migrate accordingly.

We continue to work closely with KuCoin and other exchanges. More updates soon.
