The 13th Waffen Mountain Division of the SS Handschar was a Waffen SS Division composed by mostly muslims, with a force of 26,000 men strong. The Division operated with around 23,300 Bosniak muslims and 2,700 croats of christian faith. They operated mostly in the Eastern Front, in Yugoslavia, fighting the communist partisans. The soldiers swore allegiance to Hitler and went on to fight against communists and Allies forces.
The Brazilian Expeditionary Force was a military force from Brazil, sent to the Italian Campaign in ww2 with the purpose of removing german soldiers from the Gothic Line in northern Italy and in south-east Italy. They were composed of 25,600 Brazilian Army troops and some 350 Air Force pilots. The Expeditionaries were succesful in breaching the Gothic Line with allied forces and were also taking over locations in North and South Italy, like Montese, Massarosa and Monte Castello. They fought in ww2 until 1945, the end of The War. Their insignia was a snake smoking a pipe, an irony towards the ones who used to say ''It is more likely for a snake to smoke a pipe than for the Brazilian Army to enter the war''; hence their nickname: Smoking Snakes.
