and a long awaited shirt trade with London!
do y’all think I should do more shirt commissions like this? 👀 they’re like $50 each

I’d like to clarify a few things about the shirt, since it’s caused a bit of a stir:
for my commissioners, I recommend Spreadshirt - it’s relatively low-priced for buying single units of a custom design. however, the price is still expensive when looking at front, back, and sleeve printing (which is the case of the shirt above). buying in bulk means individual shirts can be cheaper, since it’s cheaper to produce a mass of them versus individual ones! the $50 was not including the price of the design - and if it was, I’d be making $2. keep in mind the high price of custom things includes the price of the item, producing it, and the design on it itself.
I’ll be making custom-printed shirts hand-made by me here very soon! I’m upcycling shirts I don’t wear anymore, as well as thrifted shirts, and putting my own designs on it. I’m gonna be looking into screen printing sometime soon too 👀 these will be very affordable for anyone interested :)
I appreciate everyone defending artists with expensive prices! art is a luxury item, since it’s always one of one and custom made.
there’s a triangle of commissioning: Price, Speed, and Quality. can’t have all three without sacrificing one. for my own practice, I always aim to keep prices low and quality high, meaning I will be taking a lot of time on work. if you have an issue on a price, please feel free to ask me about it! if you need something cheaper, just means it’s gonna either take longer, or come out a lower quality. that’s not my own choice, it’s just how money compensates for my personal energy.
