just watched the movie Gravity, and it really opened my eyes to the problem of space debris. As someone who’s never been to space, I always imagined it as this vast, clean, and endless expanse. But it turns out, space is way more crowded than I thought! We’ve sent so many satellites up there that now astronomers and scientists are genuinely worried about how to deal with all the junk floating around. It’s crazy to think that what we imagine as a pristine, "cool" place is actually littered with pieces of old satellites, rocket parts, and debris from collisions. Turns out, cleaning up space is no less a challenge than cleaning up our own planet!

also watch it if u get some time

As we know, a theory serves as a model for understanding something. It's common for people, including myself, to refer to our ideas or creations as "my theory." But before using terms like "my theories" or "based on my theory," it's essential to ensure that two key criteria are met, especially for a GOOD theory:

◀️
It must accurately describe a broad class of observations based on a model that includes only a few arbitrary elements.

◀️
It must make definite predictions about the outcomes of future observations.

(Source: A Brief History of Time, page 7)

These criteria can serve as a foundation for evaluating the validity of a theory. Whenever you propose a theory, it's important to understand what it entails and what predictions can be derived from it.

Additionally, these criteria can be used to critically assess other arguments, such as those supporting flat Earth theories. One could ask whether these theories provide any useful predictions that benefit humanity, such as forecasting weather patterns, predicting asteroid trajectories, or understanding eclipse events. This approach helps in determining the validity and utility of various theories.

Why do people mix up having a degree with the act of learning itself?

Seriously, they’re not the same thing! You can have a degree and be a genius or have a degree and still not know the difference between a black hole and a pothole.(like me)On the flip side, you can skip the degree entirely and still be out there inventing rockets or solving mysteries of the universe.

The issue is, especially here in Ethiopia, we’ve twisted the concept of learning into this degree thing . People now act like learning isn’t important at all. It’s like they skipped to the conclusion: “Degrees don’t matter, so why even bother?” Instead of recognizing that the *degree itself* is just a piece of paper, they’ve started thinking education as a whole is pointless.

And let’s be honest this "let’s skip school" mentality is dangerous. Sure, making money quickly sounds great in theory, but where does that leave us as a society? Who’s going to build the future? Who’s going to lead the country, develop life-saving technology, or explore space? Not everyone dreams of being rich overnight some of us dream of making a meaningful impact.(lemme cope here 🥸) ....(alrr, and maybe also proving Freud wrong about “the goal of all life is death 💀”)jk here cos i like the quote

Education gives us more than just degrees. Even if what you learn in school seems unrelated or boring, it gives you essential skills like critical thinking, creativity, and literacy the tools to question the world and grow. The problem isn’t education itself, but how we approach it: focusing on grades instead of actual understanding, or thinking degrees automatically equal knowledge.

We need to stop sending the wrong message. Saying “degrees don’t matter as much as we thought” is fine, but that’s *not* the same as saying, “Learning doesn’t matter at all.” Let’s remind ourselves and future generations that while degrees may or may not define us, the act of learning is what will always shape us.
