WARNING
After upgrading to Swift Backup v5, don't use older versions because:
- v5 updates the backup storage format, which isn't compatible with previous versions.
- Older versions will delete cloud backups made with v5 by mistake.

Changed 'Conditional new backup' strategy behaviour for multiple app backups
- In the previous v5 betas, it skipped backup of an app entirely if the selected condition for creating new backup is not met. Now, it updates the latest backup if the condition is not met and creates new backup when condition is met.

- For example, if the selected condition is 'APK changes' and during backup if the backed up APK hasn't changed, it will still continue to update data parts of the backup. In case the APK has changed, it will continue to create a new backup.

If you use Swift Backup on multiple devices, ensure you update the app on all your devices.
v5.0.3 (588).apk
53.6 MB
Google Play Release v5.0.3

Cloud: Fixed a Google Drive related issue where Swift Backup's folder was re-created even when it existed.

Users affected with this issue may not be able to see their previous Messages/Call Logs/Wallpaper backups in the app. App backups are not impacted.

Though this bug is now fixed with v5.0.3, if you are impacted, the solution is to
1. Disconnect Google Drive in SB.
2. Move the Messages/Call Logs/Wallpaper backup files to one of the Swift Backup folders on your Google Drive (same account).
3. Delete the other duplicate folders and also remove them from Trash.
4. Reconnect Google Drive in SB.

My apologies to the affected users. Please reach out by email to support@swiftapps.org if you need help regarding this.

Thanks @NuIIie

Swift Backup now targets Android 15 and is compatible with the latest Android 15 beta releases.

Multithreaded Downloads
- Introduced experimental multithreaded downloads for Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box, pCloud, S3, WebDAV services, and Yandex.
- This should improve download speeds with cloud services that throttle downloads from third-party apps.
- Activate via Settings > Swift Labs > Multithreaded Downloads.

Other changes
- Apps: Support for backup/restore of shared app libraries (e.g., Trichrome library for Google Chrome builds).
- Apps: Possible workaround for Xiaomi HyperOS app list retrieval.
- Apps: Backup/restore 'Pause app activity if unused' permission.
- Cloud: Resolved issue with renaming files >5GB on Amazon S3 storage.
- Cloud: Added upload chunk size settings for S3 (accessible in Settings > Cloud backups).
- Cloud: Restricted maximum Dropbox upload chunk size setting to 150MB (as per Dropbox limitations).
- Other bug fixes and UI refinements.

Known Issue: OneDrive Uploads
Some OneDrive users may experience upload failures with '401 Unauthorized / Forbidden' errors. This is a Microsoft-side issue currently under investigation. There is no immediate workaround available. Users can track the issue on Microsoft's GitHub repository and support forum:

Announcement regarding Google Drive’s Shared drives support in Swift Backup

Hello Swift Backup users,

Due to recent changes in Google’s policy, the ‘drive’ scope, which allows access to shared drives, now requires an annual CASA Tier 3 security assessment. This assessment costs at least $4,500 each year, which is not feasible for me as an individual developer.

Starting with the next update, the ‘drive’ scope will be removed from Swift Backup. This means you will no longer be able to back up to shared drives on Google Drive. Regular backups to your personal Google Drive will continue to work as usual.

If you have existing backups on shared drives, please use the current version of the app to restore them before updating to the new version.

In case you’re seeing any warnings or notifications from Google, go to Swift Backup settings > Cloud backups > Google Drive access mode, and set the access mode to normal. Disconnect & Re-connect Google Drive in the app.

Thank you for your understanding.
