➡️ According to sources, Putin discussed with Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, during a meeting in St. Petersburg that Russia could relinquish claims to parts of four Ukrainian regions that remain under Kyiv's control.

➡️ In return, the US could recognize Russia’s control of Crimea and acknowledge its de facto control over the territories it currently holds.

➡️ The US has floated ideas for a potential peace settlement, including a European peacekeeping force in Ukraine and a demilitarized zone monitored by both Russian and Ukrainian forces. Ukraine has been open to some of these proposals but remains firm on its stance regarding Crimea, which President Zelensky reiterated as non-negotiable.

➡️ Putin may also be willing to ease his previous demands for full control of the four frontline regions—Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia—if the US grants broader geopolitical concessions, such as recognizing Crimea as part of Russia and blocking Ukraine from joining NATO.

➡️ Trump hopes a deal will happen by April 30 so he can proudly declare that he got his peace mission done in the first 100 days of his presidency
