Xiaomi's bootloader unlock policy is now updated . As per the new policy the following rules will be followed :

For regular users, it is highly recommended to leave the bootloader locked (default state) and not unlock it.

For enthusiasts who wish to customize their phones and are fully aware of the risks associated with unlocking devices, you can apply for unlocking permission through the Xiaomi Community. Please stay tuned for the application portal on the Xiaomi Community, which will be accessible on the App soon, and the application rules will be based on the application page.

Previous operating systems, such as MIUI 14, still retain the ability to unlock. Users will no longer receive Xiaomi HyperOS updates if they leave their devices unlocked. To receive the Xiaomi HyperOS updates, please get in touch with after-sales service.
