Passkeys are coming to Android as well as Chrome

Passkeys will make passwordless sign-ins common
Working:-
On Android, it’ll turn your smartphone into a passkey that can be used to log in to a website.
You’ll be presented with a QR code that you scan on your Android smartphone. The same will work vice versa with a passkey stored on an iPhone to log in to services in Google Chrome.

Passkeys are secure such that without the key stored in your account or on your phone, somebody can’t log in to any of your online accounts.
There’s no phone number to spoof, nothing to steal (unless they steal your phone and log in to that), and no password to crack.

These passkeys are synced through the Google Password Manager which also helps log in to services that support passkeys using a Mac running Safari.

Afterwards developers will also be able to implement it in their apps, and even support passkeys that may have already been used to log in to the same service in the user’s browser

RIP Xiaomi cloud photo backup service

Xiaomi provides 5GB of free storage space on Xiaomi Cloud for backing up contacts, messages, device settings, photos, and videos.
A guy in MIUI community, found an upcoming announcement from Xiaomi to its cloud customers informing them about the shutdown of Gallery Sync later this year and sometime in 2023, all your photos backed up to Xiaomi's cloud service will be deleted

Xiaomi will partner with Google Photos and provide a way to migrate your backed up media content to the Google photos.
For those not using Google Photos, there will also be an option to download the content on your Xiaomi device or PC

Xiaomi will stop billing later this year and issue a full refund soon for those who.were paying for additional cloud storage space on Xiaomi Cloud.

Xiaomi will only end Gallery Sync in countries outside China, hinting that it might be deprecating the feature due to low user uptake.

Windows 12?

During Microsoft’s Ignite 2022 keynote, a screenshot briefly showed a Windows desktop running Microsoft Teams, but the desktop doesn’t look familiar hinting at a major Windows release to come sometime in 2024 referred to as "Next Valley" internally (Maybe Windows 12)

A few other variations of this prototype exist, including one where the UI elements at the top are sitting on a translucent bar at the top of the screen.

Changes as seen in the prototype:-
A floating taskbar at the bottom, meaning it’s not stuck directly at the bottom of the screen.
It’s somewhat reminiscent of the UI in macOS or some Linux distros.

•A lot of information at the top of the screen, including the current weather, a search bar, and system icons for things like Wi-Fi and battery.

Note:- The screenshot shown during the keynote was fairly low-resolution, but Windows Central created a mockup where you can see the UI elements with a bit more detail.
