nothing released both of their phones with old software out of the box, making updating android a pain in the future

to understand why you'll need to know a few things:
- bsp - qualcomms soc blobs (drivers & firmware) used by oems to build android. chip makers have to update it for each android release
- grf - program which lets oems use one soc vendor for 3 years. a vendor based on a11 will work on a14 without issues

phone 1: released with android 12 & a11 vendor
phone 2: released with android 13 & a12 vendor

under grf, np1's vendor will work until a14, and np2's will work until a15, but they promised 3 os updates for both so np1 gets a15 and np2 gets a16

with both devices when the vendor becomes obsolete and won't work, they either have to:
- add 4 years of changes to their android 11/12 blobs which requires a ton of work
- ask qualcomm for help with updating the bsp which definitely won't be free lmao

tl;dr: oneplus oppo nothing is fucked in 2-3 years and will have issues updating their devices

Latest F'King Poco F5 smartphone has started to get RIP guys.
A user bought his F5 2 months ago and it has died successfully now while running MIUI 14

He was watching a movie on Netflix at 1% battery & it turned Off since battery discharged.
After putting it on charge, the smartphone failed to turn back ON

People criticized him for buying Poco smartphone but he says "Not all Poco Phones are bad & he bought F5 because it was a Great Deal! "

Xiaomi Service center mentioned fault denoscription as "Phone does not boot Android/ MIUI"

Poco promised to give 2 years warranty to regain customer's faith in Poco smartphones but Xiaomi service center has mentioned expiry date of warranty in the year 2024 instead of 2025 "very cleverly" offering ONLY 1 year warranty

Indian Government imposed 28% Tax on Online Gaming

Indian gaming industry raised 2.8 Billion$ from domestic and global investors combined in the last 5 years

Until now, the companies paid a small tax on the fee they charged for offering real money games.
Now a 28% GST Tax has been imposed on the entire amount collected from players in "every game"

India's Finance Minister said that "decision to impose tax on the total amounts gaming companies collect was taken after consultation with states, and the intent was not to hurt the industry"

But industry representatives said "It would sap their earnings and in-game purchases were then likely to be expensive for customers.
It will also kill India’s online gaming industry and will render thousands unemployed,"

In short, this change indicates an increase from 1.8 rupees per 100 rupees spent on a game to 28 rupees now

Note: Purchases in "non-gaming apps" will NOT be affected
