Asus Denied Rumours about Zenfone discontinuation

Previously it was reported that, Zenfone 10 could be last Zenfone smartphone

The report said, "ASUS smartphones are divided into ROG & Zenfone series, but now the latest Zenfone 10 will be the LAST.
Zenfone team will be merged into other departments or directly into ROG team"

Asus has now confirmed that rumour is FALSE
"Asus will continue Zenfone production line & they have a strong commitment to its smartphone business and customers"

Asus also noted that "Please refer our Q2 earnings call" as a proof that Zenfone isn't dead

Earnings has nothing to do with a smartphone discontinuation considering Zenfone sales are pretty low, but its one way of explaining investors about a product lifecycle

Also, the rumour is partially True

The thing with Zenfone is that Asus is probably slimming down 2 different teams that works on 2 different products (ROG & Zenfone) by merging into 1 team only that will work on 2 different products

BREAKING: Google Pixel 8 series might get 5 Android OS upgrades support

9to5Google reported that Google "plans" to overtake Samsung in terms of software update promise for the Pixel lineup.

Samsung provides 4 Android OS upgrades to its smartphones & Google promises atleast 3 OS upgrades

Surprisingly, Xiaomi has also started providing 4 Android OS upgrades to its flagship series but it does NOT ships them monthly

For eg, Flagship Xiaomi 13 Pro got April security Patch & then Xiaomi delayed it up by 4 months releasing next update in August

So, Xiaomi does NOT care enough to release security patches every month even for its flagship
Google on the other hand, updates its Pixel including midrangers EVERY month

Now, Google is planning to provide 5 Android OS upgrades to its Pixel series overtaking Samsung & Xiaomi

Apple also "on average" provides 5 OS upgrades to its iPhones

Google controls Tensor chip now, so they don't have to worry about vendor freeze as done by Qualcomm.

Just a day after Apple send out iPhone 15 invites, Google also started sending Pixel 8 launch event invites

Google Pixel 8 series along with Pixel Watch 2 will launch on October 4th worldwide including India

Qualcomm's QCM 6490 chip is an industrial IoT processor, used for Single Board Computers or "rugged smartphones"

QCM lineup chips are also more expensive as Qualcomm offers extended software support for its industrial IoT platforms compared to its consumer mobile platforms.

That's why FairPhone 5 is able to offer 8yrs support
But QCM 6490 is still a GRF'd platform

Dynamic Island on Huawei Mate 60 Pro

Since Huawei Mate 60 Pro have three holes on the front display for 3D projection, they can be hidden by just 1 click, which turns them into Apple's Dynamic Island

3 Holes are:
• Flood illuminator & Dot Projector on left
• Proximity sensor in middle
• Actual 13MP front camera on right

Who knows if Huawei in its HarmonyOS adds Dynamic Island functionality in their smartphones since the design has been copied anyway

FUNFACT: Honor (when it was a part of Huawei) was the 1st company to debut what you call now Dynamic Island on iPhones that too in 2018 only

Remote gestures in Huawei Mate 60 Pro

Remote gesture in Huawei is similar to Air Swipe or Google Pixel's Motion Sense which Almost ALL smartphone brands (EXCEPT Apple) have tried atleast once on their smartphones

This is possible with the help of 3 Holes on front display which acts as 3D projection

Well, it does look Cool but seems a gimmick anyways as you will look like a "clown" while doing it in public and it's very slow compared to touch response
One of reason why some brands like Google dropped the feature in future Pixels
