You can now STOP Google Dialer Call Recording announcement

In some countries, Google gives an option of recording the calls in its dialer app.
But the recording comes with a catch as when you turn on call recording, the assistant speaks to the receiver only "Your call is NOW being recorded"

This has been done because, in some countries recording calls without consent is illegal by the law

But in the latest update of the Google dialer app, Google has given the option to stop this annoying announcement.

By turning ON the option — "Play audio instead of the disclaimer", the announcement won't happen
But the catch is that it will replace the announcement with a "BEEP" sound

Well, it is still much better than the announcement anyway & you also don't need to root your phone or use some 3rd party apps or mods to disable this announcement

Why Apple Watches are not compatible with Android smartphones

Once upon a time, Apple put its engineers deeply engaged to make the Watch & Health app compatible with the billions of Android devices

This was codenamed Project Fennel and “would have brought the company’s health features & its benefits that Apple underlines to many more people"

The work was "nearly complete" as well.

But in the end, Apple canceled Project Fennel because the Apple Watch is a driver of iPhone sales.
“If you gave up the watch to Android, you would dilute the value of the watch to the iPhone,”

So, Apple reminded itself that it is Apple and business matters most to them than people's lives & health and ironically after losing Masimo's patent battle, Apple argued "Masimo has wrongly attempted to use the ITC to keep a potentially lifesaving product from millions of U.S. consumers"

Anyways, in 2024 Apple Watch could get a new sensor to help detect elevated blood pressure & sleep apnea detection.

RCS is coming to iPhones later this year

In a statement to 9To5Mac, an Apple spokesperson has announced that later next year iPhones will receive RCS support with an OTA update.

Later next year, we will be adding support for RCS Universal Profile, the standard as currently published by the GSM Association. We believe RCS Universal Profile will offer a better interoperability experience when compared to SMS or MMS. This will work alongside iMessage, which will continue to be the best and most secure messaging experience for Apple users.

RCS (Rich Communication Standard) is a texting standard which brings many features present on iMessage to other devices, like read receipts, typing status, reactions or high quality media.

Apple's implementation of RCS will also give users the ability to share the location with other people.

This does not mean that iMessage is opening up to other platforms, as RCS and iMessage will work separately.

FunFact: Apple announced RCS coming to iPhones just a day before Carl Pei will roll out Nothing Chats that can iMessage from an Android phone.

Anyway, I think that Apple knew that, in the future, EU could force Apple to support RCS if it cannot force it to open iMessage since it is a proprietary tech

Also, this does NOT mean that Apple will change the green color in the USA to end blue bubble v/s green bubble nonsense. It could still continue as usual

Sunbird can access every iMessage in Nothing Chats

After finding that Nothing Chats is NOT even using HTTPS & credentials are sent over plaintext HTTP, Nothing responded:

"While the protocol is HTTP, all data is encrypted & the encryption key is provided via HTTPS, so Apple credentials sent via HTTP are secure & not open to the public."

But, when a message is sent using Nothing Chats, it is sent to Sunbird’s Sentry (a debugging platform) with links visible in plain text.
Further, “all” data is sent & stored through Firebase and is completely unencrypted too

This means employees at Sunbird can view them from their Sentry dashboard.
So Sunbird is abusing Sentry by logging real messages, pretending they are errors.

Also, you can even list ALL the media ever sent on Sunbird.
After counting, there are more than 637,780 media stored by Sunbird including videos, photos, audio & vCards etc

Another issue is with the file names as ALL files are stored with the original names
