JUST IN: Xiaomi sued a Chinese blogger for infringement speeches and malicious rumours against Xiaomi

We usually see big brands like Apple, Google, etc getting sued by people mainly over privacy or security reasons

But this time, Xiaomi only sued a Chinese blogger for spreading rumors against Xiaomi and smearing 😂.
Well, people spread hatred against Apple and Google as well but NONE of these brands sued any individual unlike Xiaomi

The court has said that the blogger will pay Xiaomi 100,000 CNY (~14,000 US$) for "economic losses faced by Xiaomi" and reasonable expenses of 50,000 CNY (~7000 US$) as well

The blogger will also need to post an apology to Xiaomi on top of his Weibo account under 24hrs

NEXT: Xiaomi to sue TechLeaksZone ??? XD

iPhone ? That's Privacy.....

This screenshot shows the app analytics data sent by two different iOS apps — duolingo and Tinder
What's the likelihood that both apps are installed on the same device? 💯? 🤯

Both apps use Unity Ads.
The data in the screenshot is collected by the Unity Ads framework included in these two apps, and any app that uses Unity Ads.

The data is sent to the same Unity server.
As a result, Unity Ads can easily fingerprint users and track them across different apps.

The volume being sent is also accurate as testing with different volume levels resulted in including such values in the requests.

Fake LastPass password manager spotted on Apple’s App Store

LastPass is used to store very sensitive information, such as authentication secrets and credentials (emails & passwords)

But now, LastPass is warning that a fake copy of its app is being distributed on the Apple App Store, likely used as a phishing app to steal users' credentials.

However, the fake app's name is 'LassPass,' instead of 'LastPass,' and it has a publisher of 'Parvati Patel.'

After the LastPass warning, Apple removed the previously reviewed and approved app

Ironically, Apple wants you to know that the App Store is a ‘safe and trusted place’ ahead of EU' DMA changes and thus, Apple has added a note, welcoming users to the App Store saying that it is a “safe and trusted place” to download apps and games.

OnePlus is following Xiaomi in FAKE Adveritisng

OnePlus claimed that the OnePlus12R 128GB variant comes with UFS 3.1 storage & the 256GB storage comes with a faster UFS 4.0 storage

However, while running the AnTuTu storage test, it was revealed that 12R comes with UFS 3.1 storage
So, some redditors contacted the OnePlus support team for confirmation & they confirmed that the OnePlus 12R comes with UFS 3.1 storage

So now, OnePlus very cleverly and quietly changed the OnePlus 12R specification page on their website.
Previously= 128GB UFS 3.1/ 256GB UFS 4.0
Now= 128GB/ 256GB UFS 3.1

Here’s a list of OnePlus scams in 2023-24:
4 years of OS updates on the 11R
FAKING e-SIM support on Indian OnePlus 12
• FALSE advertising of UFS 4.0 on the 12R

Rumored upcoming scam:
OnePlus Buds 3 does NOT support LHDC 5.0 either as advertised

Conclusion: OnePlus = Xiaomi Part 2 🎉
Congratulations OnePlus users

Indian OnePlus 12 users also Scammed

OnePlus claimed that OnePlus 12 supported e-SIM in India and thus users expected that it will be available via an OTA update.
But now OnePlus quietly and cleverly added a line that — "Not supported"

With the OnePlus 12R UFS 4.0 scam, OnePlus openly acknowledged their mistake because ALL OnePlus 12R variants independent of the region, do NOT support UFS 4.0

However, because the e-SIM scam happened with the Indian models, OnePlus did NOT make any announcement and just quietly edited, thus scamming the Indians.

So, OnePlus is offering e-SIM support to the USA and European market but removed it for the Indian region similar to how Xiaomi removes NFC support in their mid-rangers for the Indian market

Nothing releases Glyph Developer Kit

Nothing has finally released Glyph Developer Kit after almost 20 months of launching Phone 1
These are a set of tools that allow 3rd-party apps to manage the Glyph lighting interface on the back of Nothing’s phones.

For those unfamiliar, Phone (2) has 6 separations in the center and 33 addressable LED lighting zones, compared to 12 in Phone (1). The top right alone has 16 customizable lighting zones and includes a glyph composer for custom ringtone creation.

Developers now have the chance to create their own Glyph Interface integration. Interested parties can start building now and sign up to be notified when API key registration opens.

The necessary resources and support documentation can be found on GitHub including details on GlyphFrame, which indicates the Glyph to be used, as well as GlyphFrame.Builder and GlyphManager for controlling the Glyph Interface.
Developers can utilize GlyphManager.Callback to verify successful connections.

Samsung Galaxy S24+ v/s Samsung Galaxy S24+

Finally, a YouTuber compared Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus Exynos 2400 variant with the Galaxy S24 Plus again but the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 variant which is sold in the US market

TL;DR of comparison in the YouTube video:
• Benchmarks & temperature recorded both are similar
• Snapdragon performs 'just' 6% better in games
RayTracing better in Exynos
• Exynos 2400 also offered better battery life

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 had 'only' 5-6 fps more than Exynos 2400 in gaming but Exynos 2400 offered better battery life due to more efficient cores

Also, note that MOST games still run on OpenGL rather than Vulkan, and Exynos 2400 does NOT support OpenGL driver at all

Thus, the E2400 runs ANGLE for OpenGL through a translation layer
So, even after having a disadvantage in most games, the Exynos 2400 still outperformed Snapdragon

Additionally, the next update for S24 Plus with Exynos 2400 could get MAJOR OTA update compared to Snapdragon's because of BSP updates too

Samsung S24 Ultra will just get updates related to OneUI 6.1 and the camera & everyone already knows that Qualcomm is pathetic in offering BSP updates

Android 15 DP1 is coming on Thursday, according to a Googler (H/T 9to5Google).

If you want to know what's coming in Android 15, check out the posts I've done for Android Authority and Android Police or my threads on what's new in the Android 14 QPR betas.

One of the features I'm most excited for is Private Space, which will basically be Android's native version of Samsung's Secure Folder feature. I fully enabled this feature to show it off in this article.
