BREAKING: Apple Sued Xiaomi in China

Apple has filed a lawsuit against Xiaomi in China.
The lawsuit, filed in a federal court, accuses Xiaomi of lying to its consumers about the technology it uses in their smartphones

1. FAKE ISP chips:
Xiaomi claims that its flagship smartphones like the Xiaomi 12S Ultra & Xiaomi 14 Ultra use Xiaomi Surge ISP chips

However, Apple has found out that it is NOT any ISP chip and is just a post-processing chip
Xiaomi uses Qualcomm SoC's ISP only but markets it as an ISP to increase its sales & thus lying to its customers

2. NO USB Certification
Apple claims that Xiaomi USB-C chargers and USB-C ports are NOT USB-certified
They are just PD/PPS compatible

Apple also asserts that Xiaomi's custom user interface closely resembles iOS, with SAME iconography, gestures & overall user experience.

Apple has also accused Xiaomi of infringing on patented technologies related to camera enhancements & facial recognition systems

The entire complaint spans 69 pages

Google agrees to destroy browsing data collected in Incognito mode

The proposed settlement in Brown v. Google will mandate greater disclosure from the company about how it collects information in Incognito mode and put limits on future data collection. If approved by a California federal judge, the settlement could apply to 136 million Google users. The 2020 lawsuit was brought by Google account holders who accused the company of illegally tracking their behavior through the private browsing feature.

The proposal is valued at $5 billion, according to Monday’s court filing, calculated by determining the value of data Google has stored and would be forced to destroy and the data it would be prevented from collecting. Google would need to address data collected in private browsing mode in December 2023 and earlier. Any data that is not outright deleted must be de-identified.

Google spokesperson José Castañeda said:
Pleased to settle this lawsuit, which we always believed was meritless. We never associate data with users when they use Incognito mode. We are happy to delete old technical data that was never associated with an individual and was never used for any form of personalization.

Apart from a revamped volume panel, Android 15 will also bring a revamped status bar with new icons

The charging chip that appears when you plug your device in to charge is also being updated, as shown in the clip above

Also, the status bar icon for the battery will show the current battery level inside the icon as opposed to on the right of the icon.
If you don’t like the battery level, you can turn it OFF as well

In addition to these new icons, Android 15 may also add a bit of haptic feedback to the Quick Settings panel when doing a long press on a QS tile such as Bluetooth while its getting expanded

Android 15 will also add some haptic feedback to the volume slider that appears when you press either volume key.

Samsung x ESA presents The Galaxy Time

ESA (European Space Agency) has teamed up with Samsung to launch the World's FIRST watch face for our Solar System — The Galaxy Time for the Galaxy Watches

Not only can you tell the time on Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, but you can see their exact positions and distances thanks to real-time data from ESA.

Of course, the Galaxy Time tells you the time on Earth, too.
Each planet has its own dial that shows time running faster or slower relative to our 24-hour system.

In addition, the watch face provides extra information such as distances from Earth or the Sun to neighboring planets, how many moons they have, and their planetary seasons and exact positions in the solar system.

Samsung says Galaxy Time is compatible with every Galaxy Watch running Wear OS, which means the Galaxy Watch 4 series or newer

You can Download it from the PlayStore:

iPhone SE 4 will have Display Panels from BOE instead of Samsung Display

Apple is developing the iPhone SE (4th generation) and it is scheduled to release in 2025.

iPhone SE 4 will feature the same display used in iPhone 14 and thus it will have a "notch" as well along with a 60Hz refresh rate and NO dynamic island either in 2025

Three companies, BOE, Samsung Display, and Tianma are in a bid to supply display panels for the iPhone SE 4.
Samsung Display had proposed the lowest price for a panel, USD 30, while the BOE quoted USD 35 and Tianma, quoted USD 40 respectively.

However, Apple was NOT willing to pay more than USD 20 per unit.

Now, it has been reported that Apple has partnered with BOE to source display panels for the iPhone SE 4. BOE will supply each panel for USD 25.

Tianma product quality has NOT yet met Apple's requirements.
Samsung Display has withdrawn from the negotiations due to issues related to the price.

Samsung Exynos 2500 will use Google's TPU for AI acceleration
Source

Samsung Exynos 2500 or the "Dream Chip' will leverage 3 strategic partnerships:
• ARM for custom CPU
• AMD for custom GPU
• Google for custom AI TPU

With the Exynos 2200 to Exynos 2400, Samsung developed & kept using its own Neural Processor (NPU) and Digital Signal Processor (DSP)
But it didn't boost the Android ML Layer, or Google Mobile Service (GMS) System App Services.

Thus, using Google's TPU (Tensor Processing Unit) in the Exynos 2500 will give access to the Google Machine Learning APIs that can run models on the device.

After One UI 6.1, the software will then run better with Galaxy AI Model & Android Machine Learning Interface to interact with "Galaxy AI Devices".
To run smoother and faster, TPU will engage when the Google ML API code is detected on the app.

Galaxy S25 Ultra would 'likely' feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy chipset
