Court documents reveal Google’s long-term plan:
👉 Replace ChromeOS with an Android-based desktop OS called “Aluminium OS”

Timeline:
• 2026 → Aluminium OS early development
• 2028–2030 → Wider rollout on laptops & PCs
• By ~2034 → ChromeOS maintained only for old devices, then phased out

Instead of ChromeOS, Google wants Android to run laptops, desktops, tablets, and phones — all on one platform.

This also explains why ChromeOS updates have slowed and Android keeps getting desktop-style features.
