Claude Cowork is testing “@” mentions to trigger callable actions and app-style widgets within chat, signaling a shift toward integrated tooling and UI rendering. Updates also hint at project-based memory and improved conversation search.

Anthropic is working on @ mention support for Claude Cowork, where you will be able to trigger certain MCP capabilities.

However, some placeholders are named as "MCP Apps" and "Imagine" widgets for SVGs and HTML components.

This may be a reference to a solution which would allow MCP Apps to render UI components in Claude's response. This concept mirrors recently launched ChatGPT Apps that are also based on remote MCPs and rely on ChatKit for widget rendering.
