Wikipedia disinformation regarding Ancient North Eurasian ancestry:
ANE descended from a mix of early West Eurasians (e.g. Kostenki14 or Sunghir) and early East Eurasians (e.g. Tianyuan Man).
Wikipedia claims ANE had 29-50% East Eurasian ancestry, but this estimate is implausibly high. The 50% estimate comes from one study which does not align with other data.
The earliest "ANE" samples are Ancient North Siberians (a distinct but related population) from Yana RHS in far northeast Siberia. Generally, they are estimated to have around one third East Eurasian ancestry (22-35%), which aligns with their position on principal component analyses.
Younger ANE, such as Mal'ta Boy (MA1), may have had as little as 11% East Eurasian ancestry, although this is likely an underestimate; 20-30% is more reasonable.
It should be noted that the least West Eurasian ANE (Bronze Age Tarim Mummies, who had an additional 15% East Asian ancestry) still looked Caucasoid.
