🚀 I Built a Checkers AI Agent That Learns Like a Brain! 🤖♟️

Hello everyone! I just built a Checkers AI Agent that learns to play using the NEAT (NeuroEvolution of Augmenting Topologies) algorithm! 🧠♟️

After a long time of learning and building, I finally created a Checkers AI Agent that mimics biology using the NEAT algorithm.

This AI doesn’t just play; it learns through self-play and evolves its neural network structure over time, just like a brain. Inspired by AlphaGo, I wanted to explore how AI can mimic biological evolution — and watching it get smarter is honestly exciting.

It’s still at a basic level, but seeing it grow and learn on its own makes it incredibly rewarding. You can play against the AI in your browser or train your own models.
It is also open source.

Also some of the things you should do if you plan to apply for study abroad programs:

While you are student:

1. Collect your trannoscript end to end you can apply with it and you need to pay your cost sharing after securing everything at the end
2. Download all your result from the website especially before taking exit exam save as pdf the page that shows the course you have taken and your result. They will wipe everything after exit so do that when you can
3. Some universities ask for course syllabus so don't toss that course syllabus you get each semester infact you need to pay 30 br per page to get the syllabus from registeral and if any teacher didn't give don't forget to ask
4. Ask for recommendation letters from professors especially for your major courses the last two years are good timing to ask for recommendation.
5. Start applying start from your last year of bachelor's study if you want to join directly after graduation but make sure you have enough time to submit documents for the program check the university calendar for graduation and the program for last day of original document submission
5. If you don't know where to start from start with your motivation letter draft stating why you are applying, your story your plan and your works so far
6. Check if your ideal universities accept Duolingo and take Duolingo it's better option right now the other language tests are quite expensive (20k+)

While working:
1. If you plan to study abroad get role that aligns with your intended major
2. Form good relationship with your seniors do ask recommendation it enhances your profile you can have one work and one or two academic recommendation based on the program requirements
3. Do not be taken away with busy work schedule don't lose focus and be taken with work task only. Stay late and finish application during the application period never ever lose focus have in mind why you started working in the first
place
4. Rejection letters are inevitable so don't have high expectations sometimes rejection looks like acceptance with no funding at all


Be strategic with your location choice for instance at this time I personally would not go to US for MSc. Since study period is 2 years your F1 visa (student visa) expires in 2 years and with the current turbulence securing H1B visa (work visa) could be problematic so be strategic about your decisions. Don't be stuck be flexible and hopeful.
