I just received an invitation from ReachForChallenge for a half-day workshop at Skylight Hotel. The invite was sent to 50 email addresses, including mine. While checking the list, I noticed that some people used their own domain names, likely tied to their projects.

Unfinished things causing you stress? Here's the science behind it.

The Zeigarnik Effect is a psychological phenomenon where our brains fixate on unfinished tasks or incomplete thoughts. Soviet psychologist Bluma Zeigarnik discovered that people are much more likely to remember things that are interrupted or left incomplete compared to tasks they finish. This happens because our brain naturally seeks closure and patterns to make sense of things, so when something is left unfinished, it creates a mental loop that keeps reminding us of it.

This tension caused by incomplete tasks can lead to intrusive thoughts, distracting us and even making us prone to mistakes. The unfinished task competes for our attention, making it harder to focus on other things.

This effect can become toxic when combined with underlying fears or anxieties, amplifying the mental strain. To manage this, the best strategy is to limit the number of tasks or responsibilities we juggle at one time, often called our work-in-progress (WIP). By reducing the number of things we leave incomplete, we can ease that mental tension and improve productivity

Today, I had the chance to attend the Mastercard Foundation Edtech Fellowship Program - Capacity Building Workshop at Skylight Hotel.

The goal? To give us valuable insights on how to apply for the Reach for Change Edtech Fellowship.
