Our shadow is any part of ourselves we deny, repress, or exile. We typically deny these parts of ourselves because cultural conditioning tells us that we need to be a certain way to get approval. Still, our shadow will make itself known, no matter how hard we try to suppress it, by unconsciously projecting these disowned parts of ourselves onto the external world.

There is a big difference between being an individual and being individuated. The former still traps you in the matrix as it is based on the ego personality with all its attachments and desires.

Paradoxically and ironically, however, you need to become an individual first with ego strength before you can fully commit to the process of individuation to bring forth the true Self.

It's a key point with Aquarius to engage in the individuation process, which is not about becoming an individual in the official culture or consensus reality. Individuation is a deeper inner process to become whole to connect to your true essence. You need to be fully engaged in this process to know thyself, and then you can be around others without losing yourself or becoming dependent on others.
