В сети продолжают разгонять слухи о скорых анонсах Valve
На этот раз слухи касаются новой VR-гарнитуры. Их источником стал венчурный инвестор Wu Xu, который утверждает, что устройство под названием Frame (ранее известное как Deckard) могут представить уже на этой неделе.
По его данным, ключевые особенности гарнитуры следующие:
➡️ Производительность: будет незначительно выше, чем у Quest 3, но без революционных скачков.
➡️ Дизайн: гарнитура будет заметно легче и тоньше Quest 3, основной ориентир на портативность.
➡️ Контроллеры: два 6DoF-контроллера можно будет соединить в один стандартный геймпад для игры в обычные проекты из Steam.
➡️ Экосистема: доступ как к нативному VR-контенту, так и ко всей существующей библиотеке Steam.
➡️ ЯДЕРНАЯ БОМБА: вместе с гарнитурой может выйти Half-Life 3 в VR в качестве стартового проекта.

Steam-контроллер классный, до сих пор с ним играю и не прочь взять новый получше. А вот Valve Index я откладывал покупать из-за тонны проводов и слухов о том что собираются выпустить новую версию VR-гарнитуры. Если слухи правдивы — буду брать. Заодно вкачусь в VR не через аттракционы, наконец. Брать любые Meta-вские устройства было бы глупостью из-за закрытости платформы, когда как Valve всегда предоставляли свободный доступ к начинкам устройств без ограничений.

Steam-контроллер классный, до сих пор с ним играю и не прочь взять новый получше. А вот Valve Index я откладывал покупать из-за тонны проводов и слухов о том что собираются выпустить новую версию VR-гарнитуры. Если слухи правдивы — буду брать. Заодно вкачусь…
Ещё и Steam Machine перезапустили! В прошлый раз эти ПК-консоли были круты, но сильно опережали своё время. Их мало кто понял ввиду того что тогда ещё не было апгрейдов вроде фич SteamOS и самого понимания "портативного ПК" в виде Steam Deck. Выглядит круто и куда более доступно для тех кто планировал когда-либо приобретать мини-ПК: который достаточно мощный для игр, при этом достаточно мобильный.

I assume it's generally unbecoming to reference 4chan posts for an academic but surprised the Shopping Cart theory didn't get a mention given how close it was to the subject matter.
