Before the last vote in Parliament, far too little time had been awarded to thrashing out the issues, interrogating the flimsy safeguards and reflecting on the economic, social, and cultural contexts in which #AssistedDying will be exercised.

Save for some well-reasoned speeches from the 'no' camp, most notably Danny Kruger and Tim Farron, the debate barely touched the surface of the deeply complex issues and paradigm-shifting consequences.

Our largely naive & unquestioning political class seem to have no understanding of the gravity of this decision.

This is far too important a decision to be left in the hands of 600 MPs. The public MUST have a proper say.
