ASSISTED SUICIDE BILL: Today outside the House of Lords, protesters placed shoes to represent lives at risk under this Bill.
More and more saying that even if they agree with the principle in the abstract, THIS BILL is extremely dangerous & no way to achieve it. After Covid, do you trust the state with life and death?
MPs debated this seismic Bill less than fox hunting, and at the end of it, key safeguards had been stripped, protections for the vulnerable rejected, and Ministers given sweeping powers with almost no scrutiny.
It's up to the House of Lords now. But "Let them die" is the line in the New Statesman:
"Assisted dying would appear to mitigate some of (the UK's) problems, curbing the pensions bill, the NHS bill and the care bill." (Article: https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/uk-politics/2025/09/let-them-die)
