The story continues…

Flying out of Adler to Dubai, my flight was delayed by just half an hour. I thought, “Alright, no big deal - I’ve got 4 hours to catch my connection to Doha.” Waited for the gate, grabbed my suitcase (yay, didn’t lose it this time), and decided to grab a taxi to the other terminal - about a 15-minute ride.

Turns out you can use Yandex Taxi in Dubai. I thought, “Cool!” Ordered one… the car on the map didn’t move, the waiting fee kept ticking. Three attempts, a bunch of money wasted - and then it hit me: total scam. Installed Uber, driver showed up and took me. Yeah, there’s a bus that takes 45 minutes, but I was sure I’d be faster.

I did make it - in just over two hours. And then… surprise, motherf***er: my flight to Doha was actually… tomorrow. Exactly 24 hours later. My travel buddy and I checked the tickets four times, but turns out the Aussie agents had changed the schedule, and we booked our connection based on the old one.

So I sat down on the airport floor, stretched out, and reflected on life. But spending the whole night on the floor wasn’t an option. Found a nearby hotel. Their night transfer wasn’t working, so I called Uber again - and again waited two hours for someone to pick me up. Weirdly, no one works at night. Finally got to the hotel around 1 AM, squeezed dry like a lemon.

At last - sleep in a horizontal position. Woke up, had breakfast, stepped outside… and instantly melted. The heat was so insane that even I, a hardcore Krasnodar sun lover, couldn’t handle it. Walked to the corner and thought, “Nope.” Went back, put on an old movie, and enjoyed doing absolutely nothing.

P.S. Late checkout here costs almost the same as another full night. In the evening I quickly packed up and went back to the airport. Got through all the procedures and even managed to watch another movie.

Now I’m boarding for Doha. Please wish me luck - this time, for real 🤣✈️

🇬🇧 Regarding the post above. Reaper has a plugin that emulates the wellknown Sonnox Oxford Inflator. The Inflator itself is basically just a waveshaper preset, but it’s very convenient when that preset is mapped to hotkeys and knobs. If you need a touch of saturation on your signal, just drop this plugin on, or simply draw a basic curve in a waveshaper.

🇷🇺 Касаемо предыдущего поста. В Reaper есть плагин, который повторяет работу знаменитого Oxford Inflator. Сам инфлейтор по сути всего лишь пресет в вейвшейпере, но когда этот пресет вынесен на отдельные ручки и хоткеи - пользоваться им гораздо удобнее. Если нужно слегка добавить сатурации в сигнал, просто кидайте этот плагин. Или нарисуйте простую кривую в waveshaper - эффект будет тот же.
