Canadian trucking company ordered to reinstate driver fired for drinking and driving
A Quebec trucking company has been ordered to reinstate a driver who was fired after she drank at least nine beers before she lost control of her truck on a Pennsylvania highway.
The driver’s actions amounted to serious misconduct, but her drinking was the result of a disability — alcoholism — and trucking company Groupe Robert should have made a 'reasonable accommodation for her,' labour arbitrator said in her written July 18 decision.
“The night of the accident, she needed to drink,” labour arbitrator said. “She admitted that even though she knew she shouldn’t, the need was stronger, like something that she couldn’t control.”
The driver told the arbitrator the company could have installed an alcohol testing device in her truck after the crash, or found other work for her.
The audacity!

Former dancers sue Lizzo, alleging she fat-shamed them, sexually harassed them
It's no secret 'the left' eat their own. Now they've decided to go after body-positive obesity-promoting Lizzo.
Three of Lizzo's former dancers have accused the singer of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment in a lawsuit filed Tuesday. They also allege that she pressured one of them to touch a nude performer at an Amsterdam club and subjected the group to an "excruciating" audition.
According to the lawsuit, Lizzo encouraged her employees to catch sex toys ejected from the performers’ vaginas and bananas protruding from the performers’ vaginas.
Every day liberals spin the wheel to choose who to cancel next. And we're just here watching 🍿

🏳️⚧️Disturbing trend among large corporations to normalize gender reassignment and body mutilation
Costa Coffee and Dr. Martens are among the many glorifying the double mastectomy for girls and women.
No one in their right mind would cut off a healthy and functioning leg, but when it comes to reproductive organs, it's somehow inspiring. This should be unacceptable.

🇬🇧 Protesters drape home of UK PM Sunak in black fabric over oil policy
Greenpeace activists decided to keep up with their Just Stop Oil counterparts.
This time, activists draped the private home of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in 200 metres of oily-black fabric, protesting the expansion of oil and gas drilling.
"Rishi Sunak - oil profits or our future?" - activists ask.
I wonder, what kind of future do they have without oil profits?

Biden's team gives into the 'Dark Brandon' meme
Biden posts a 'Dark Brandon' video saying “I like my coffee dark”.
'Dark Brandon' is a meme, or, rather, Biden's internet alter ego that started circulating on the internet about a year ago. Dark Brandon is supposed to intimidate his enemies. Now, apparently, Biden wants to mock Trump for his new indictment.
But all I see is a man who can't get off the stage without falling over or describe America in one word.

Biden's White House wanted to control free speech on Facebook
Newly subpoenaed internal notes of meetings between Facebook executives and Biden Admin officials reveal more about the lengths the Biden White House wanted to go to control true speech on Facebook.
Rob Flaherty, President Biden’s then-Director of Digital Strategy, was in constant communication with Facebook to influence content visibility.
In some notes, Rob asks whether Facebook is doing enough to reduce traffic from sites like the NY Post, and whether Facebook could change its algorithm so that users see more posts from the New York Times and less from the Daily Wire.
He said it is important for the government to ensure that platforms (such as Facebook) do not "funnel people towards bad content".
I won't say it's surprising. It's just another example of liberals' arrogance and their confidence that they are doing something good.

🇬🇧 British pensioners should be delivering pizza
Mel Stride, UK Secretary for Work and Pensions, suggests that retired people who are struggling to make ends meet could earn extra cash in the gig economy.
Stride called on companies to take on more of the over-50s, at the same time as reminding more senior members of the workforce that they might have to consider a wider range of jobs if they want tomake ends meet earn some extra money.
That's an interesting way to combat cost of living inflation.

🇬🇧 Finance UK publishes list of phrases that banks should avoid over fears they could be deemed offensive
There is a growing trend for companies and governments to revise their language to be more inclusive.
▪️UK Finance - a trade body for British bankers - has issued a guide on language that bans the term 'black market' and replaces it with 'illegal market', despite it being commonly used for generations.
The guide says the phrase could be seen as racial bias or discrimination. Similarly, suggest the word 'slave' be changed to 'secondary' when discussed in the sector.
The guide has banned 'black hat', a term used in the industry and cyber-security to mean an unauthorized user, with 'unethical' suggested instead.
'Sanity check' is also prohibited, as it may 'infer a level of disability'.
▪️City Hall has also recently revised its language, banning employees from using the phrase 'ladies and gentlemen'.
Civil servants working for the Labour mayor are also barred from describing migrants as 'illegal' and must now call them people with 'insecure immigration status' or 'undocumented'.
