🇺🇸Oregon residents increasingly support repealing decriminalization of drugs
Unfortunately, one of the best ways to learn a lesson is from your own mistakes.
Oregon residents who supported decriminalization of hard drugs three years ago got what they wanted and now regret it.
▪️In a recent poll, 56% of respondents said that they wanted to see Measure 110, which decriminalized the possession of hard drugs, repealed completely. Meanwhile, 45% said the measure should be left as is.
The measure has certainly had an impact on quality of life. 54% of respondents said it has increased homelessness, and 50% said it has decreased safety in their communities.
I guess those who think the measure should remain have simply not yet experienced the effects directly.
Back in 2020, 58% supported the measure. Now the situation has changed.

National Archives admits it has 5,400 Biden pseudonym emails from his vice presidency
▪️The National Archives and Records Administration has admitted that it is in possession of nearly 5,400 emails, electronic records and documents that potentially show President Biden using a pseudonym during his vice presidency.
NARA confirmed the existence of the trove in response to a June 2022 Freedom of Information Act request by the Southeastern Legal Foundation, a nonprofit constitutional legal group. Although NARA acknowledged their existence just days after the request, it has not provided a single email.
The request asked for emails pertaining to the accounts of Robin Ware, Robert L. Peters, and JRB Ware – pseudonyms the 80-year-old president was known to use in the White House during his time as President Obama’s vice president.
▪️Earlier this month, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer demanded that NARA hand over any unredacted records in which Joe Biden used a pseudonym during his vice presidency as part of his probe into the role the former vice president played in Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings.

🇺🇸 Who is Vivek Ramaswamy?
In light of Trump's persecution, the candidacies of Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy, who are following Trump in the polls, have become more significant. While DeSantis has been present on the political stage for some time (governing Florida being his most notable accomplishment), Ramaswamy is new to politics. It's worth taking a look at where he's come from.
▪️Vivek, 38, made quite a fortune first working for a hedge fund and then by creating a biotech company, Roivant Sciences, in 2014, which buys rights to develop drugs that were dropped by other companies. One of the company's most high-profile effort - to develop intepirdine to treat Alzheimer's disease - failed clinical trials and significantly decreased the company's value. Roivant has never been profitable, in 2023 it lost more than $1 billion.
But Vivek always managed to find investors, and now, mostly due to his share of Roivant Sciences (7%), he is one of the wealthiest presidential candidates, with a net worth estimated at close to $1 billion.
In 2022, Ramaswamy considered running in the U.S. Senate election in Ohio but dropped the idea only to announce his presidential bid in February 2023 on Tucker Carlson's show on FOX. That escalated quickly. The next day he sold part of his shares, which allowed him to pocket $24 million after taxes. He later lent $10 million of his own money to his presidential campaign.
▪️As a Republican candidate, Vivek Ramaswamy is self-proclaimed anti-establishment, anti-woke, and anti-ESG. He speaks openly against financially supporting the war in Ukraine (which he admits has lost him some donors).
❗️"BlackRock, State Street, & Vanguard represent arguably the most powerful cartel in human history: they’re the largest shareholders of nearly every major public company," Ramaswamy says, and he's right, because they even own a share of his own company.
In 2021, Ramaswamy stepped down as CEO of Roivant, and the company wasn't doing great. In summer 2022 it reached its lowest stock value since going public, and it is probably then when the establishment's dark trio - BlackRock, Vanguard and State Street - stepped in. They have acquired more than 5% of Roivant or more combined and brought in other investors working under their umbrella. Roivant has been growing since being basically saved by BlackRock.
▪️So why all of a sudden is Vivek running for president?
I don't think it is a coincidence that right after the big brother, BlackRock, decided to take Roivant Sciences under its umbrella, Vivek decided to pursue his political ambitions. The move is mutually beneficial.
Despite his open stances against the 'establishment,' Vivek can still capitalize on his growing company. The establishment (BlackRock and others), seeing no actual threat in Ramaswamy, can still appreciate him for competing with Trump and taking away the spotlight.
If Trump is barred from running, Vivek will have a hard time competing with the Democratic candidate. And if he wins, it will still be easy to negotiate with him by influencing investments in Roivant Sciences.

🎓Americans' trust in college keeps dropping
Just 36% of Americans said they have confidence in higher education, according to a recent poll.
This decline is seen in all age groups, among both men and women.
In 2023, Republican confidence dropped to 19%, independent dropped to 32% and Democrat dropped to 59%.
This trend is not surprising at all. The rise of useless degrees has been a concern for a long time.
Republicans are most concerned about politics in education. Democrats are more supportive of the current programs, but express concern about the cost of higher education.

Canadian father jailed after ‘misgendering’ daughter lands win in appeal court
Robert Hoogland, a Canadian father who was thrown in jail after "misgendering" his teenage daughter, has scored a legal win in the British Columbia Court of Appeal. Now he won't have to spend any more time in prison, but will have to pay a $30,000 fine.
The story began in 2018 when Hoogland refused to consent to his daughter's medical transition. After legal dispute, the court said that the girl could be put testosterone and Hoogland was barred from publicly "misgendering" his daughter. This led to him receiving an actual sentence for committing "family violence."
Hoogland spent more than two (out of six) months behind bars before he managed to win in the appeals court.
This is an important victory. However, it is worth remembering that this situation should not have happened in the first place. Canada is taking things to the extreme.

Elon Musk slams elite Hollywood school for brainwashing his child into a transgender communist
Elon Musk has spoken out against the elite Los Angeles-based Crossroads School, accusing it of brainwashing his child, who is now transgender and has declared himself a communist.
Musk's son, Xavier Alexander Musk, now goes by the name Vivian Jenna Wilson. According to Musk, he previously supported his son's decision to transition, but Xavier later took it to the extreme and became a "fervent" communist. Xavier claims he does not wish "to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form."
Once you give in to the woke ideology - even one step - the situation quickly turns into a snowball.

Washington Post reporter Philip Bump says there is no evidence that Hunter Biden involved his father in his foreign affairs.
On a podcast, Bump was asked what he, as a journalist, thought about Hunter Biden's text message to his adult daughter explaining that he had to give half of his income to his father.
"I have no idea what that means... I feel like you want me to walk out," he responded. And then walked out. Peak journalism.

🇨🇭Assisted suicide machines may soon become available in Switzerland
In his new article, Paul Serran raised a topic that has bothered us for a long time - assisted suicide.
In the Western countries, especially in Canada and the Netherlands, assisted suicide has taken deep roots in the health care system. The euthanasia 'industry' is growing and businesses see an opportunity to capitalize on it. According to Philip Nitschke, founder of Exit International, Switzerland may soon start operating its first assisted suicide machine.
Exit International, a pro-euthanasia group, describes its product as "demedicalizing death." Actually, it's more like "dehumanizing death." The mechanism resembles some creepy futuristic inventions, but Nitschke claims there are already people on the wait list.
The Sarco Pod, which gets its name from the "sarcophagus," rapidly reduces oxygen levels, leading to asphyxiation. It happens quickly: oxygen levels drop to less than 5% in less than one minute.
The machine will ask you just three questions, "Who are you?", "Where are you?" and "Do you know what happens if you press the button?" If the person answers these questions, they can press a button that will activate the machine.
❗️Such inventions destroy notions of morality. While euthanasia was initially introduced out of "humane" reasons, to end the suffering of terminally ill people, euthanasia is now moving into the realm of philosophy.
Should people with mental illness be allowed to be euthanized? Can minor sick patients actually consent to euthanasia? Can one just lie down in a pod and die?

It seems we should abolish the concept of "googling" things, because Google can't be trusted anymore.
You will get the 'right' answer to your question, not the accurate answer. Here's one example.
If you want to know if men can menstruate, the first thing you'll see is a quote from TransHub stating that "people of all genders menstruate." No wonder kids are so messed up these days.

New Zealand's Prime Minister Chris Hipkins has the audacity to claim his government never mandated vaccines:
“In terms of the vaccine mandates, I acknowledge that it was a challenging time for people but they ultimately made their own choices. There was no compulsory vaccination. People made their own choices.”
Hipkins was the country's minister when New Zealand instituted mandatory vaccinations for health workers, military, teachers, university students, police officers, travel, many sports, and small businesses.

Oprah and the Rock would like for you, the public, to donate to help the residents of Maui. They have a combined net worth of $2.8 billion. The two of them kickstarted their fund with $10 million but now they’re calling on everyone else to donate the rest.
How very kind of them to ask for money from a public that’s already living paycheck to paycheck when they could literally fund the entire charity by themselves, or at the very least offer to match any future donations.
If Oprah's track record for past charities is any indicator, I'd be worried about where the money's actually going.
