Explanation for the 'Ramanujan Trolley Problem Meme':

5 is just the default "current path" number of people to be killed by the trolley.

1/12 is because the trolley would be killing "1+2+3+...+infinity" people which according to Ramanujan summation is -1/12, as you know ;) .

So "killing" -1/12 people is the same as subtracting -1/12 people thus -(-1/12) = 1/12, so it is adding 1/12th of a person.
