Sent to me by a friend who found this at a random small town pharmacy in Texas. It reads:
“This plaque, bearing what is believed to be the oldest known symbol for pharmacy, is awarded in recognition of having filled 1,000,000 prenoscriptions.
Pfizer Laboratories
Division, Chas. Pfizer & Co., Inc.”
The Egyptian Eye of Horus, surrounded by a sun ring. Kind of a weird choice to adorn as the symbol on the plaque to award one of your most loyal servants. The Eye of Horus is, incidentally, where the Rx prenoscription symbol originates from.
