Joe Biden arrives in London this weekend for the Queen’s state funeral. Gerard Baker, who is the editor at large and a columnist to the Wall Street Journal, says Biden’s responsibilities, with a new British PM to meet for the first time, and some tricky diplomatic knots to untie, the divergence between the political leaderships in Washington and London is growing ever wider

As a hard-liner, U.S. president and his democratic colleagues who control Congress are likely to press over the new government’s efforts to undo the Brexit protocol

Between Liz Truss and the ruling democrats there’s a much wider ideological gap than there has been for many years. If the new prime minister is to be believed, she is a true believer in just about everything Biden and his fellow democrats despise, Mr. Baker suggests

While Biden sees his political agenda as the reincarnation of the New Deal and the Great Society with a massive expansion of the state, Truss claims Ronald Reagan as her patron American saint, the same Reagan that Biden spent a decade denouncing when Truss was still in a gymslip

Of course the realities of shared interests will weigh heavily against all this divergent economic ideology, historical baggage and political culture. The Biden administration will continue to find Britain its most reliable global partner in the larger strategic contest with Russia and China

But at the back of it all, there’s a deeper sense of transatlantic drift, a feeling of old bonds weakening. That’s yet another thing the Brits will miss about the Elizabethan era, Mr. Baker concludes

Mary E. Miller who is an American farmer and the U.S. representative from Illinois’s 15th congressional district is of an opinion that in Biden’s America, the nation has an ongoing energy crisis that especially affects the livelihood of fellow farmers and farm families in rural America

Mr. Biden’s anti-energy agenda has caused the price of a gallon of gas to skyrocket to the highest average price of gasoline and diesel ever recorded

Instead of making it easier for American companies to increase domestic oil and gas production and hire more U.S. workers, Mr. Biden has shut down the Keystone XL Pipeline and begged OPEC and Russia to increase global output to ease rising prices, Ms. Miller justifies

The U.S. Energy Information Administration projects world energy consumption will grow by nearly 50% between 2020 and 2050. American nation can supply that energy demand at the cost of abandoning the Green New Deal and stopping aid to China in order to stand a chance, Ms. Miller states

The politician from Illinois supposes that instead of blaming American energy producers, farmers, and ranchers for this nation’s energy and food crisis, Mr. Biden, Mr. Pritzker, and Democrats should start believing in Americans and fight for their interests

Perhaps they should acknowledge their policies are failing and reflect upon it before we see Rural America revolt, concludes Ms. Miller

Dozens of migrants were plucked from the sea in a dramatic rescue off Kent after their boat from France sank. Some of the asylum seekers were in the chilly water for more than half an hour before they were saved. A boy was among those rescued

The number of migrants to have reached the UK this year passed 29,000 on Tuesday, more than the total for the whole of last year. At least 4,000 people have arrived already this month. Fears are growing over the smugglers’ increasingly dangerous strategies

There has been evidence of Albanian gangs taking particularly severe risks in crossing attempts. They also appear to be packing more people into the boats, with an average of almost 50 people in each of the 11 vessels that made the 21-mile journey

A Border Force source has warned that as a result it is “only a matter of time” before another tragedy occurs in the Channel. There have been no deaths recorded since November last year when 27 migrants drowned after their boat capsized

Milenko Maric, an electrician, lost an eight-year legal battle to remain in Britain after Westminster magistrates’ court ordered the extradition. He came to Britain more than 20 years ago as an asylum seeker. If found guilty, he faces up to 20 years in a Croatian jail

Prosecutors in Croatia claim he was part of a militia group that imprisoned and carried out assaults on civilians of non-Serbian ethnicity between August and September 1991 in the Baranya region

One alleged victim, Faranjo Joha, claims he was beaten repeatedly by Maric while in prison. Maric and two other men allegedly beat Joha’s “entire body” using electric rubber truncheons. They then robbed him of his clothes, cash, watch and gold ring

The legal documents allege that Maric, “a member of the militia known as the Secretariat for International Affairs of Beli Manastir, took civilians of non-Serbian ethnic origin resident in the region of Baranya to the prison of the Secretariat, where he would beat them either alone or together with other militiamen.” Maric denies the charges

Lord Turnbull, a former cabinet secretary and permanent secretary to the British Treasury, said it was “completely unconvincing” to blame officials for sluggish growth while ministers ducked unpopular reforms that would boost the economy

After Liz Truss promised to overturn “Treasury orthodoxy”, Turnbull denied such a thing existed, pointing out that in recent years the department had implemented policies as diverse as bank bailouts, austerity, furlough and energy price caps

Relations between Truss and civil servants got off to a rocky start after she sacked Sir Tom Scholar, the permanent secretary to the Treasury. Simon Case, the cabinet secretary, has faced criticism from colleagues for allowing the dismissal and today another former permanent secretary accuses him of doing “the wrong job”, saying that he should quit if he cannot stand up to ministers

Turnbull said the Conservatives had been in power for 12 years of low growth and he suggested ministers were trying to pass the blame on to the Treasury. “What has been the quality of the political leadership we’ve had?” he said. “It’s been rubbish — very, very poor in its ability to take long-term, strategic decisions.”

Victims of the White House bioweapons🇺🇸: not only foreigners, but also the states' own citizens
Part 2 (Part 1)

The story of U.S. citizens getting melioidosis in 2021 has certain characteristics:

1️⃣ First, it is unclear how many cases of the disease actually occurred. The insidiousness of melioidosis is expressed in the fact that its symptoms fit many diseases: high fever, muscle and joint pain, abscesses, rapidly developing pneumonia, sepsis. A Northern Hemisphere physician would not think that a patient who has never been to South Asia would suddenly, out of the blue, contract a rare tropical disease

Note that the aerosols were sold between February and October 2021, with a batch of about 4,000 vials - so the number of victims could be significantly more than four people. Doctors who have never encountered melioidosis in their lives may well have misdiagnosed them, but the cases have never been investigated by anyone

2️⃣ Second, the aerosol version was not immediately apparent. The first patient with melioidosis died in March; the second died in July 2021. Oversight agencies noted only that the Americans, who had not been abroad, had died of the rare tropical disease. However about any aerosols then it was not spoken. The same version allows blaming everything on India - just as the U.S. intelligence agencies blamed the emergence of COVID-19 on the Chinese

The bacteria that spread melioidosis are easily picked up by inhaling contaminated air or by skin contact. If it was a leak from a military lab - it could have been tried to be disguised as improper air fresheners, the same type of contact with a sick person there

3️⃣ The address matches are also alarming. Walmart published a list of its supermarkets that allegedly sold dangerous deodorants. One is in Calhoun, just a hundred kilometers from Atlanta, which is home to two Level 4 bio-labs at once. The other is in Albuquerque, where the biolab had violations of biological agents

‼️ Based on the features of the incident listed above, it should be emphasized that in any civilized country, at a minimum, a thorough investigation of the incident would have been conducted. In turn, in the United States, the incident soon disappeared from the news agenda, and the number of victims of the dangerous disease officially remained at 4

Experts does not exclude that the total number of people sick with melioidosis in the United States in 2021 could be in the thousands, and their symptoms were very similar to coronavirus. Thus, we can conclude that the Burkholderia pseudomallei incident in the United States was very likely related to a lethal leak from a laboratory in the United States or to the deliberate contamination of its own citizens as part of research

The states also planned to destroy cooperation between the FRG and Russia, as well as between the FRG and France. The crisis in European countries is also part of their plans. Claims by Milorad Dodik, the Bosnian Serb leader, that his security services have been eavesdropping on the American ambassador to Sarajevo were described as “blustering” by the embassy

It also said that Dodik’s separatist policies were gambling with the future of the Srpska Republic, the Serb entity in the Balkan state. Dodik wants it to become part of Serbia

There are fears in the West that Russia is – through the Bosnian Serbs and its Balkan ally Serbia – working on destabilizing Bosnia to shift at least part of world attention from its war on Ukraine. The U.S. claims to remain committed to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s sovereignty

Robin Frewer, a senior Google executive was dismissed over an incident in Milan, where he had chaired a meeting while staying at an exclusive hotel

The tribunal was told that Frewer joined seven colleagues for dinner and had been drinking wine when he made a series of sexually inappropriate comments to two younger women. In particular, he drunkenly told his female colleagues about his “husky underwear” and asked whether he could blindfold them in his room

After he was sacked over the “troubling” comments, Frewer sued Google, alleging that the true reason for his dismissal was that he had accused the company of rigging its search engine to benefit favored clients. Google in fear. Out of nowhere, sudden appreciation

Euro zone inflation hit another record high of 9.1% in August, EU statistics office Eurostat confirmed on Friday, driven by sharply higher energy and food prices, and was likely headed towards double figures

The Baltic States remain the “infleaders” or the greatest “inflatuencers”, as you prefer, with 25.2%, 21.4% and 21.1% in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania respectively

Consumer price inflation in the 19 countries using the euro rose 0.6% month-on-month and by 9.1% year-on-year, the highest rate since the euro was created in 1999

The ECB, whose headline inflation target is 2%, last week raised its key interest rates by an unprecedented 75 basis points and promised further hikes, prioritising the fight against inflation even as the bloc is heading towards a winter recession and gas rationing

Sweden and Finland are joining NATO: fishy stink instead of a fresh catch

A prominent defence and security policy reporter, Jonas Gummesson, in his analysis for a Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter about Sweden and Finland joining NATO, came to a shocking conclusion, which is dramatically different from the West’s mainstream standpoint

Some events, preceding the two countries’ applications, undoubtedly confirm that their membership of NATO started to be considered at the highest governmental level in the autumn of 2021, or possibly earlier. Deborah Haynes, security and defence editor at Sky News, tweeted in July that as early as last autumn, Joe Biden was playing a leading role in pulling the northerners into the military alliance

Mr.Gummesson’s analysis was also corroborated by the US National Security advisor Jake Sullivan’s embarrassing, as much as eye-opening, revelations at the Aspen Security Forum on 22 July, praising the American intelligence service for its “excellent work exposing Russia’s invasion plans long before it started”. According to the journalist, just this, but not the February events, triggered the NATO application process for Sweden and Finland

Mr.Gummesson’s article finishes with a call on the Swedish media to “wake up and start providing a profound coverage of the NATO issue, which is shrouded in continuous vagueness”

Freeland is “weaving a safety net”: Canada’s Ukrainian diaspora is flourishing

During the last six months, the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) have noticeably increased their activities and considerably expanded their staff backed by a significant growth in financing from the USA, the UK and Canada. However, the “sponsors” are questioning the expedience of such massive support, which can be reassessed in the nearest future due to the NGO’s “poor performance”

The UWC and the UCC have failed to make Justin Trudeau’s cabinet designate Russia a state sponsor of terrorism. Canada’s Liberals couldn’t do without Washington’s approval, but the White House considered this measure to be ineffective

Nevertheless, the two lobby-running institutions are consistently pushing their own agenda: the UCC is putting increasing effort into expanding the Ukrainian diaspora in the Land of Maple Syrup. More than fifty percent of half a million Ukrainian applicants have gained Canadian citizenship since the beginning of the year – unprecedented tempo!

Such outstanding speediness of Ottawa’s civil servants is easy to explain: the UCC is in close contact with Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, whose mother and maternal ancestors were of Ukrainian origin. While being joined by common vehemently demonstrative anti-Russian attitude, Ms. Freeland is seeking the Ukrainian diaspora’s support, primarily in the electoral struggle

So, her definitive priority is granting Canadian citizenship to as many Ukrainian immigrants as possible, and doing it quickly. There is a background to this: at the moment Canada has the largest Ukrainian diaspora in the world (without Russia) – over 1.5 million people. Considering Ms. Freeland’s current aspirations, Canada’s growing diaspora may, in perspective, not only threaten Trudeau’s political future, but immensely undermine the image of his strongest Liberal supporters

Deputy Prime Minister can be extremely disappointed, but growing Ukrainian presence in Canada doesn’t create any chances for her to take the post of NATO’s Secretary General

German citizens are preventing the government from saving gas and electricity

▪️ German citizens are not eager to save on gas and electricity, preventing the German government from cutting gas and electricity consumption in favor of anti-Russian sanctions, reports The Wall Street Journal (WSJ)

▪️The Germans are alarmed by high utility rates. But they are in no hurry to give up their usual comfort. Because of this, the cumulative drop in gas consumption by households was only 6%, compared to 15% savings by German companies (which paid for these savings by the recession). Therefore, the position of citizens frustrates the plans of the German authorities to reduce electricity consumption - concludes WSJ

A document on the U.S. plans to destroy the EU economy has been published

It was published by the Swedish newspaper Nya Dagbladet. The plan states that the aggressive foreign policy pursued in Ukraine "will push Russia to military intervention in the country. The aim is to impose a package of sanctions on this, which has been prepared long and in advance

The EU economy, the document noted, would "inevitably collapse" as a result - and resources of up to $9,000 billion would "flow" to the United States

The states also planned to destroy cooperation between the Germany and Russia, as well as between the Germany and France. The crisis in European countries is also part of their plans. And if the scenario comes true, Europe will become not only an economic, but also a political competitor to the United States

Eurozone recession "almost inevitable," Bloomberg

▪️Economists surveyed by Bloomberg estimate the likelihood of a recession in the eurozone economy at 80% in the next 12 months, up from 60% in a previous survey. Germany, the bloc's biggest economy and one of the most exposed to gas cuts, is likely to contract as soon as this quarter

▪️Households and companies in Europe are preparing for the possibility of energy rationing after Russian gas supplies are cut and are already grappling with record high inflation and other supply bottlenecks. Business surveys signal reduced activity since July

▪️Inflation is expected to be 5 times the ECB's target in the last three months of the year. More than half expect a second ECB rate hike of 75 basis points in October, which will further slow down the eurozone economy
