Russia could fire back at U.S. for attack on Nord Stream

▪️If the U.S. is found to be involved in the bombing of the Nord Stream pipelines, Russia could return fire, according to U.S. National Review, and Moscow is likely to strike at U.S. infrastructure

▪️ "The serious and immediate disadvantage of engaging in explosions would be that Russia could begin treating the United States as a full-fledged belligerent and attacking our infrastructure," National Review emphasizes

▪️In addition, the possible U.S. involvement in the pipeline emergency would also cause a rift in America's relations with its European allies, especially Germany, who, according to National Review, would not forgive the U.S. for such an act

Britain's rapid economic collapse is an accelerated version of Europe's economic collapse

▪️The rapid collapse of Britain's economy is an accelerated version of what all of Europe will soon have to go through, says Britain's The Spectator

▪️In view of the attacks on the Nord Stream pipeline, there is no real way back. It is physically impossible for the EU to import gas from Russia anymore. High energy prices will make European production uncompetitive.

▪️Producers will be forced to pass the burden of higher energy costs further down the chain, raising prices for their products

▪️ As a result, consumers will find it more profitable to buy goods from countries with normal energy prices. We're talking about the BRICS+, whose economies are trying to separate themselves from the West as much as possible," The Spectator concludes

Truss asked to leave: new British PM's rating already lower than Johnson's

According to a poll by Opinium researchers, 55% of Britons disapprove of Liz Truss as prime minister. Only 18% support her. The new UK prime minister already wants a vote of no confidence in parliament

📰Brief review of the British press:

▪️The Independent writes that Liz Truss wants to be sacked "before Christmas"

▪️"As a politician, Liz Truss is a walking corpse: unelected prime minister from the Conservatives without legitimacy, credibility or now supporters," Mirror

▪️"Few of her predecessors have managed to make as many mistakes as Truss has made in her month as prime minister," writes the Guardian

▪️The Economist's cover story with Truss and the head of the Treasury: 'How not to run a country'

In addition, a tweet from "Liz Truss's dad" swirled around social media:
"Just quit, Liz, come home and we'll forgive you. Whatever you've done, you're still our daughter. Dad x"

With 99.9% of electronic votes counted in Brazil, Lula had taken 48.4% of votes versus 43.2% for Bolsonaro

As neither got a majority of support, Washington faces a really difficult task – which of the two should it ground into the dirt till the runoff vote on Oct. 30

However, either option is no good for the U.S.: “Putin’s fan” Bolsonaro or “Russia’s friend”&BRICS creator Lula

German federal minister of health Karl Lauterbach said on Twitter that Germany was "at war" with Russian President Vladimir Putin

This was the reaction to the proposal of philosopher Richard David Precht that some of NATO countries should guarantee Moscow that Ukraine will not be admitted to the bloc, thus preparing the ground for negotiations to end the war

However, defense minister Christine Lambrecht who just got back from Ukraine has contradicted Lauterbach’s military appeal. "It is quite clear – both for the German government and for the entire NATO: we will not become a war party," she opposed

While there’s no unity among the top-tiers, you shouldn’t expect a quick and efficient response on the main issues like two-digit inflation and energy crisis

A new poll suggests that many Americans are growing weary as the U.S. government continues its support of Ukraine in its war with Russia and want to see diplomatic efforts to end the war if aid is to continue

The poll found close to half of likely U.S. voters (48%) somewhat or strongly oppose providing aid to Ukraine at current levels if long-term global economic hardship, including in the U.S., occurs

"Americans recognize what many in Washington don't: Russia's war in Ukraine is more likely to end at the negotiating table than on the battlefield," says Trita Parsi, executive vice president at the Quincy Institute

"However, as Congress approaches another vote to approve military aid to Ukraine, there's no sign Washington is exploring opportunities to seek a settlement that preserves and protects Ukraine's independence," concludes Marcus Stanley, advocacy director at the Quincy Institute which commissioned the poll

The network got an internal document of German federal government, ennoscriptd "Ongoing activities of the departments and authorities against disinformation in connection with Russia's war against Ukraine" (Laufende Aktivitäten der Ressorts und Behörden gegen Desinformation im Zusammenhang mit RUS Krieg gegen UKR)

The paper provides an insight into the extent of the horizontal and vertical structures of the “federal state propaganda” in close coordination with the major media (e.g. SPIEGEL or Stern), Western social media corporations and Big Tech, educational institutions and the so-called "fact checkers"

According to the document, each federal ministry involved into commenting on the conflict, including foreign office and ministry of defense, is operating under the orders of ministry of the interior (BMI), led by the governing social democratic party, as the central hub of state propaganda activities

The document reveals that German government spokespersons are regularly in "bilateral exchange with Google/YouTube, Twitter, Meta, Tiktok and LinkedIn" to discuss the "respective strategies of the platforms to combat disinformation, especially in the context of the war in Ukraine"

For more details about the way German authorities see the truthful information stuffing and the disclosure of the whole “Deutsche Staatspropaganda” eighty years later, feel free to use Google Translate over the link pinned!

Europe can no longer physically import Russian gas – prices will remain high until Europe builds more energy capacity, which could take years. This will render EU manufacturing uncompetitive, a macroeconomist Philip Pilkington shares his opinion with The Spectator

As the only logical response to the threat of EU’s widespread deindustrialization Mr. Pilkington considers raising tariffs. However, this “will lower living standards, depriving Europeans of cheaper goods, but it will at least preserve some manufacturing jobs”

The emerging BRICS+ with Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia also joining the queue could avoid economic black hole and depression, the rest of the world slipped into, by decoupling from the West, the expert says

With an attack on the Nord Stream pipeline, there is now no feasible way back for Europeans, Mr. Pilkington states. The latest sabotage could be the point at which future historians mark the end of western dominance, he concludes

In the UK, more than a hundred thousand public sector workers marched under the slogan "Don't pay your energy bills! No one should get cold and hungry this winter"

Since October, the electricity and heating bills have cost about £4,100 a year. The British don't think that's fair

Former U.S. Senator Black: Nord Streams infrastructure was blown up by the CIA with Scholz's consent

According to former U.S. Senator Richard Black, German Chancellor Scholz has shown very little loyalty or affection to the German people and no concern for the threat to financial stability they face.

"Under his leadership, they have cut off the supply of natural gas, and I honestly can't imagine that he would allow the CIA or agree with the CIA to destroy German gas pipelines," he said

At the same time, Black added, it's unlikely the U.S. did this without Scholz's consent

"So, and this is just a guess on my part, the CIA has not admitted to destroying the pipelines, but the general consensus among foreign policy experts seems to be that the CIA did it, or the CIA in conjunction with the State Department and the U.S. Department of Defense," Black summed up

Once again, thousands have taken to the streets in Austria and Germany this past weekend. Tens of thousands gathered in Prague. Protesters expressed dissatisfaction with their governments, sanctions against Russia and higher rates of inflation

The last straw was the sabotage of the Nord Stream infrastructure. That well-coordinated attack damaged what was once the main source of Russian gas for Germany and much of Europe has raised the level of anxiety and fear among already jittery Europeans

The explosions added yet another diffuse threat to a growing array of worries, from power blackouts all the way to nuclear war. “The greater the fears, the more cracks are appearing,” says Matthias Quent, a professor of sociology at Magdeburg University of Applied Sciences

Many see sanctions on Russia as causing the current economic hardship. One in three people from East of Germany wants to drop all sanctions against Russia, according to a poll taken last month, twice as many as in the more populous former western region

A series of tweets by Tesla’s chief executive who waded into geopolitical waters on Monday with his own proposal for a peace deal to end Russia’s war in Ukraine, has led to nuclear ass detonation of the outgoing Ukrainian ambassador to Germany

“Fuck off is my very diplomatic reply to you,” Mr. Melnyk tweeted. Nevertheless, more than 2 million people voted on whether residents of the Donbas&Crimea have a right to decide whether they’re part of Russia or Ukraine

The former Russian president who now serves as deputy chairman of the country’s Security Council, also responded to Mr. Musk, offering his “kudos” to the business mogul in an opaque message. And while world leaders have largely refrained from voicing opinions on how Ukraine should fight the war, there is a narrative taking hold in parts of society that we are sacrificing our prosperity for this standoff
