According to Latvia’s Procurement Monitoring Bureau, the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Latvia and SIA Wilco have signed a contract for the supply of officer swords for the sum of 495,867.77 euros
The average price of one sword is 488 euros, which means that the expenditure covers the cost of a number of swords enough to arm more than 1,000 officers.
The National Defence Academy released 47 army, navy and air force officers in 2019 and 85 officers in 2020
Latvia’s military officers are not in the least enthusiastic about brandishing their swords around Ukraine. Besides, the amount of money allocated for the purpose is by far greater than may be required to meet the needs of the army officer corps. So, the question arises: whose pockets are being lined with this money?
No wonder, the issue is hushed up by the Latvian government’s media. However, money talks and the Latvian public considers deeply corrupt top civil servants in Riga to be a giant pain in the neck. To add insult to injury, the country’s inflation rate has soared to a record level, a gruesome outcome seems to be near

Serbia currently receives the majority of the country’s oil via Croatia, an option which will likely become impossible following a fresh batch of EU sanctions against Russia

Biden administration imposes new restrictions on China’s access to U.S. semiconductor technology using the so-called foreign direct product rule, which prevents companies anywhere in the world from selling certain advanced computing chips to Chinese buyers without an American government license
According to people with knowledge of the situation, an escalation of Washington’s efforts to stifle Beijing’s industrial ambitions poses a risk to growth for the $550 billion sector, which has already been struggling with risks of fragmentation amid the COVID-19 pandemic
Some pundits say this will motivate Chinese companies to double down on resources to achieve breakthroughs. It’s supposed that planned restrictions will deal a big blow not just to U.S. chip companies, but the global semiconductor industrial chain too, which banks on Beijing for revenue growth, given China's weight as the world's biggest chip market

A NATO submersible was already discovered on the Nord Stream pipeline in 2015
On November 6, 2015, during a routine visual inspection of the Nord Stream- gas pipeline, a "NATO" Sea Fox mine destroyer was found lying in the space between the pipes, clearly under one of them. It was point 651 km at a depth of 40 meters
The explosive device was then retrieved by the Swedish Armed Forces. The transport of gas, which was stopped due to the emergency, was restored. NATO stated that the underwater mine destroyer was "lost" in the exercise

Swedish deputy prosecutor found dead after promising to tell the world the truth about the explosion of Nord Stream
The deputy head of the Swedish prosecutor's office, Erik Ulsson, who had promised to tell the world the truth about the bombing of Nord Stream and accused the intelligence services of trying to seize the original Coast Guard protocols about the diversion, was found dead in his home
Apparently, he was stung by a bee, triggering an instant allergic reaction and anaphylactic shock. The Stockholm police gave some details of what happened: The body was found when the prosecutor didn't show up for work. Nearby, Ulsson's will was found with a request to immediately cremate him in case of death, which was carried out a few hours later
According to the police who found the body, there was no indication of a criminal case, so no criminal charges will be filed. The prosecutor's colleagues have already expressed their condolences to his relatives. Ulsson's tragic death has already sparked speculation and conspiracy theories: photos taken ten years ago of him at an apiary right next to his country house in Lund were posted online
However, the police soon published an expert comment: as it turned out, a powerful allergy to bee stings can suddenly develop even at an advanced age. Absolutely accidental!🤔

"Russia conducts large-scale retaliatory strikes on Kiev as Ukraine asks for more support from 'exhausted West'": Global Times sets the stage
"Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said China has taken note of reports of bombings in Ukrainian cities and hopes the situation will defuse as soon as possible. China hopes that all sides will properly resolve their differences through dialogue and consultation
Despite Russia's violent response after the bridge bombing, observers believe that the use of nuclear weapons for Moscow is ruled out. However, they said that because of the suddenly heightened tensions, the U.S. and other Western countries should apply the brakes and not fan the flames of the crisis. The current situation is on a knife edge, and any provocative move at this time would result in a powder keg exploding at a time when Western countries have exhausted most of their military resources.
"The U.S. wants the conflict to exhaust Russia and Europe, not for them to die together through the use of nuclear weapons. Thus, when tensions reach the critical point of spiraling out of control, the West can step on the brakes," the expert say
