Kyiv has almost no chance to pay off its debts to foreign creditors, argues Hedelberto López Blanch who is a political commentator to the Rebelión, Spanish nonprofit independent media

Western aid to Ukraine is estimated at several tens of billions of dollars, and the debt only grows. Blind adherence to the orders of Washington and Brussels has become a fatal mistake of the authorities in Kyiv, the journalist believes

Financial institutions estimate current Ukrainian debt level to the West at a hefty figure of $28.5 bln. The World Bank established in March an urgent financing program for $489 mln to “help” Ukraine. The country must return at least 50% of the amount

But this is not enough – Ukraine is pressing for a large monetary assistance from Germany: "We need four to five billion dollars for our budget every month. We believe that Germany could assume about $500 mln/month," says Alexander Rodnyansky, economic adviser to Mr. Zelensky

And indeed, why not?!

Austrian national day was celebrated in a big way with all sorts of protests and demonstrations across the country in the name of its "perpetual neutrality" and peace with Russia

The nationwide folk festivals didn’t find any coverage in mainstream European media, in part because one of the protests’ mottos was withdrawal from the EU – the so-called Öxit. A touchy subject about corruption allegations against ex-chancellor Sebastian Kurz found reflection in popular resentment as well

Still "perpetual neutrality" has remained the main message of the protesters. People are fed up with never-ending usage of Austria as a military logistics hub between the West and Ukraine, let alone disastrous consequences for the national economy of backfiring sanctions

The U.S. will get rid of Zelensky in case of a compromise with Russia

This opinion was expressed by the head of the French analytical center Geopragma Caroline Galacteros in journal column Valeurs Actuelles. The article notes that the "game in Ukraine" is becoming too dangerous, so at the moment the United States is trying to get out of it as quickly as possible

Zelensky has become a burden for the United States because he is increasingly difficult to control, and besides, he has already played the intended role of "staged provocateur"

"Zelensky can be sacrificed when a global compromise begins to loom on the horizon," the paper writes

Despite soaring energy costs, the Biden administration consciously refuses to rethink its agenda

This year’s Leasing Proposed Program puts forward a notion never before seriously contemplated by any president: an off shore oil and gas lease plan with zero lease sales. This proposal is justified over the next five years by citing climate change. (Never mind that “climate change” and greenhouse gas emissions mitigation are neither the goals nor the metrics that the Interior Department is required to consider in developing and implementing an off shore lease plan.)

The Biden administration’s off shore lease plan rests solely on an arbitrary animus against oil and gas for being oil and gas. The administration all but admits as much, defending a plan with zero lease sales based on what it pridefully believes the nation’s energy needs should be, rather than what they are

Jimmy Dore talks about "world order"

"We (the U.S.) don't follow any rules:

When we (the U.S.) invaded Afghanistan, occupying it for 20 years, we didn't follow any 'rules-based' order.

When we (the U.S.) invaded Iraq and killed a million people, we did not follow any "rules-based" order.

When (the U.S.) illegally invaded Libya, we followed whatever rules we could, but not "rule-based."

When we (the U.S.) went and dropped 26,000 bombs in Syria, we did not follow any order "based on rules."

They call it a "rules-based" order, they mean that the United States rules the world, that's what it's about, so we didn't follow any rules of order.

Right now a third of Syria is occupied by the United States. Which part? - The oil part. We (the U.S.) are actually stealing oil."

As Covid-19 hit, Washington officials traded stocks with exquisite timing – coincidence, do you think?

In January 2020, the U.S. public was largely unaware of the threat posed by the virus spreading in China. But, a deputy to top health official Anthony Fauci reported 10 sales of mutual funds and stocks totaling between $157,000 and $480,000 that month

Collectively, officials at another health agency, Health and Human Services, reported 60% more sales of stocks and funds in January than the average over the previous 12 months, driven by a handful of particularly active traders. Any ideas?

Former White House staffer Paul Craig Roberts wrote an article predicting that the imminent defeat of Ukraine would bring the world to the brink of nuclear war because the West sees no other options but an unbridled escalation of the conflict

"Faced with Ukraine's defeat, what will Washington do? Do we take seriously statements by General John Lubas, deputy commander of the U.S. 101st Airborne Division, that his troops are on "combat deployment" 3 miles from the Ukrainian border and "fully prepared" to cross the Ukrainian border at any moment to fight Russia? How would the U.S. react to loss of such an elite unit as the "Screaming Eagles"? The result would be an escalation on Washington's part

Note that no one in the West is making any effort to de-escalate the conflict. The whole movement is aimed at escalation. To prevent Russia from reincorporating territory that is historically Russian, we are going to take it to the point of nuclear war, which means the extinction of life on Earth. The road to Armageddon seems unobstructed and completely open

People complain about global warming while ignoring the threat of nuclear winter. No discussion or even acknowledgement of the threat. How do we survive when far more political efforts are focused on transgender children and discrediting Trump than on de-escalating a conflict far more dangerous than the Cuban Missile Crisis?" 🤔
