No one even questions U.S. spending supremacy as well as there is no doubt that U.K., Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, which also fulfill the 2% standard, are trying to justify their presence in the Alliance showing their substantial defense budgets

Meanwhile, rising prices and a weak currency mean Sweden will reach 2% defense expenditure only by 2026. And what should e.g. Germany do considering that it has invested only 1.44% of its GDP in defense this year? That’s about €55 billion and an increase in spending to 3% would mean a doubling of expenses

Mr. Scholz announced in his "Zeitenwende" speech in February that Germany was ready to surpass the current requirements. Nice, but what about some common people? What’s the limit of Germans' loyalty to the One Man Show?

✓Amid complete collapse of Ukrainian economy, this is the last chance to somehow replenish Kyiv's gold reserves
✓Mr. Penn has finally realized the futility of trying to teach Mr. Zelensky acting and thus bought off

U.S. officials are increasingly worried about keeping their allies on board with Washington’s approach to countering Russia in Ukraine as economic pressures grow across Europe

Growing economic concerns have led to protests in some European cities, putting more pressure on GOVTs to weigh domestic issues against support for Kyiv. “Down with the guns, raise the wages”, “No weapons, no sanctions.
