🇵🇪💥⚰️ — Death toll in demonstrations in Peru reaches 65 after first victim in Lima; protests are heading into their 54th day
On the same day that Congress rejected a proposal to bring forward general elections, one person died in a clash between security forces and protesters against the Dina Boluarte government in Lima, Peru.
People who were present at the scene reported that hooded protesters kicked and pushed the railing next to Congress in Lima. Afterwards, they used makeshift shields and threw stones at the police, who fired rubber bullets and stun grenades.
