The EU recently unveiled the Zero Emissions Industry Act, a so-called "measure to strengthen Europe's zero-emission manufacturing ecosystem" - the EU's response to the end of access to cheap energy resources
The EC hopes the legislation will ensure a 40 percent local share of key green technologies by 2030, but according to Bloomberg, "the numbers are staggering."
In 2021, the EC received about 42 percent of its gas imports from Russia. China imports 64 percent of wind turbines, 89 percent of solar panels and 43 percent of electric vehicle and EV technology shipments
