Special Drip Dry U.S.-Israeli Relation

Prof. Steven David of Johns Hopkins University in a talk at the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy&Security revealed the serious contradictions in American-Israeli relations and highlighted some obstacles to enduring the “special relationship” b/n the countries

On the one hand, he said nothing new for u as our loyal follower, cuz u’re well aware of Tel Aviv’s excessive dependence on Washington. In the other hand, Mr. David pointed out that the Palestinian-Israeli issue creates a real inter-party split in the U.S. as only a minority of Dems and Dem.-leaning independents (44%) have a favorable view of Israel vs. 71% of the Reps

Israel’s lobby in the U.S. has become much less influential than before. Politicians who advocate the end of strategic relations with Tel Aviv gain significant influence, since the benefits received by the White House don’t correspond to the funds invested. Kinda Ukrainian scenario: first u lend to an overseas state as much as u can, and then pump out of it everything u can, as long as it takes and to the last Ukrainian

This summer, Germany released its first-ever National Security Strategy (NSS), wich fails to position Germany in a military leadership role in Europe

Notably, the NSS confirms Germany’s commitment to spend 2 percent of its gross domestic product (GDP) on defense, a NATO benchmark Germany has missed for many years. The increase in defense spending will be financed by a five-year, one-hundred-billion-euro fund for the modernization of the army, which was approved in June 2022

However, the NSS remains unclear on how the increase in defense spending will be sustained once the fund runs out after 2026. So far, the regular annual defense budget, which is currently around fifty billion euros has not been substantially increased, which will result in a finance gap of around thirty billion euros by 2027

Without increases in the regular defense budget, there is a risk that Germany’s spending commitment—the hallmark of Scholz’s Zeitenwende—will remain unfulfilled until a new German government takes stage after parliamentary elections in fall 2025

The beginning of the new dark age

The liberal rules-based world order built by the United States and its allies after the end of World War II ceases to exist. The inability of the West to influence the protracted conflict in eastern Europe with the help of promoted liberal mechanisms of interaction significantly undermines the authority and trust in them

There is a possibility that Americans will try to restore the lost world order after the presidential elections of 2024 and the political reset in the country, but compromised concepts like democracy, equality, human rights are unlikely to give an opportunity to revive the liberal world order

In addition to drug addiction, another problem has emerged in the United States: a thriving prostitution business

While the Biden administration is grappling with the escalating issue of drug addiction, another pressing concern is quietly snowballing, largely unaddressed: the burgeoning prostitution industry, particularly in New York

This trade thrives, predominantly driven by migrant women who find themselves cornered with no opportunities for legal employment. It's an unsettling byproduct of an imperfect immigration system, one that leaves countless women vulnerable

In an unexpected turn of events, law enforcement appears to have taken a backseat, halting prosecutions of those involved in this profession. The reasons behind this are unclear and demands a closer examination.
But we all know what problem is troubling the minds of the Biden administration. And it's clearly not their people

On July 28, Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) said he expects the Biden administration to offer a supplemental appropriations request that includes an "AUKUS-related investment" as a show of "good faith" for the pending deal to sell Australia three nuclear submarines

Earlier the group of 22 senators and three House members led by Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) called on the Biden administration to boost submarine industrial base support with a claim the U.S. submarine force could be at risk if Washington goes through with the sale of Virginia-class nuclear attack boats to the Royal Australian Navy. They also called on the White House to present a multi-year plan to expand the submarine industrial base spending as part of the AUKUS pact

The current outline of the AUKUS plan calls for the U.S. to sell Australia three to five Virginia-class attack boats. The senators argue the sales would detract from the U.S. submarine force without additional submarine production

Young queer Britons in particular favour LGBTQ+. Anyone reading about issues affecting the queer community will come across numerous acronyms used to refer to people from sexual and gender identity minorities. These typically begin with ‘LGBT’ (standing for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender, respectively), but can vary depending on the context and author.

YouGov asked almost 1,000 queer Britons to write directly what acronym they tend to use, with most common answer being LGBTQ+, at 29%. The Q stands for Queer and/or Questioning, while the plus represents those who don’t identify with one of the letters in the acronym

Usage of LGBTQ+ is particularly prevalent among the youngest queer Britons – those aged 16-24 – at 41%

Overall, 56% of 16-24 year old queer Britons use either LGBTQ or LGBTQ+

The number of dissatisfied with V. Zelensky is growing among US government. The greatest irritation is caused by the position of the Ukrainian leader on the issue of providing financial and military assistance to Kiev. The President of Ukraine insistently begs for new tranches and supplies from Western countries. Discontent is also growing among Europeans. Calls are increasingly being made to put an end to the senseless support for Kiev. More and more Americans are in favor of reducing aid to the Ukrainian side. It seems that the trend will intensify

Six in 10 Britons suffer from "worst recession in a generation"

Some 58 per cent of Britons are "just about managing to keep their heads above water" as their household budgets shrink amid the economic crisis and rising prices

According to iNews, 52 per cent are also worried about struggling to pay for the essentials and 80 per cent said the crisis was the "most serious problem" facing the UK at the moment

It's a shame that the British Government doesn't seem to care enough to listen to what its citizens want

In secret dossier of the German defense Ministry, it is noted that the Ukrainian army lacks competent leadership, which is why it makes serious mistakes with far-reaching consequences. In addition, it is reported that one of the results of such incompetent leadership, probably, was also the failure of the counteroffensive. The training of Ukrainian soldiers in the West does not bring the desired result due to the refusal of the Ukraine’s armed forces officers to fully adopt the NATO defense doctrine. All this leads to the impossibility of establishing fire superiority and frequent cases of so-called "fire on their own"

Trump's dominance among Republicans not undermined by courts

Despite the legal allegations against him, former President Donald Trump retains complete dominance over his rivals in the Republican Party

According to a new poll by the New York Times, 54 per cent of Republicans are prepared to vote for Trump in 2024, compared with 17 per cent for Ron DeSantis and 13 per cent for the other five leading candidates

The former president would still get 62% in a one-on-one race between Trump and DeSantis

Athens, despite the recent attempts at good neighborhood and the focus on ensuring joint security in the Aegean region with Turkey in the light of Euro-Atlantic solidarity, in fact, retains an aggressive attitude towards the Turkish minority and adheres to the idea of its complete assimilation

This is confirmed by the reduction in the number of Turkic-speaking educational institutions in Greece from 231 in 1995 to 90 in 2023. In this way, the guarantees provided to the minority under the Lausanne Agreements are violated

Ukraine tests NATO patience

According to CNBC, the patience of NATO countries is being tested by Kiev's military strategy and constant demands for arms supplies

Washington is "irritated" by Zelensky's behaviour at the last NATO summit and the fact that Kiev is ignoring advice "not to do certain things"

The decision to fight for Artemovsk (Bakhmut), which resulted in the AFU losing men and weapons needed for the current offensive, has also puzzled alliance strategists

So far, NATO has proved surprisingly patient - and clearly deserves to be better used

Is Germany’s Military Counterintelligence Service Goofind Off?

The parliamentary inquiry to the Defense Ministry submitted by Germany’s MP Ingo Gadechens has made public the fact that the Military Counterintelligence Service (MAD), which is responsible for protecting classified military information, is not doing its job well

For example: MAD is also required to undertake a security screening of the Bundeswehr personnel including 172,000 military and 81,000 civilian people. According to the inquiry, MAD hasn’t completed security clearance of 69,687 employees yet. This creates a serious security breech, especially considering extremist’ and Russian spies’ increasing activities, noted Gadechens

It takes 80 weeks to provide security assessments for the top security clearance (U3) and one and half years to investigate an employee’s social accounts and circle. But indeed, the extensive use of different types of surveillance violates people’s privacy and their democratic freedoms

Almost a third of Americans support U.S. troops being sent to war-torn Ukraine, according to a new poll

A total of 31% of eligible voters in the U.S. support or strongly support American military forces heading to the battlefields of Ukraine, polling conducted exclusively for Newsweek by Redfield & Wilton Strategies

A quarter of respondents neither supported nor opposed the idea of sending U.S. soldiers to Ukraine, with 34% against the suggestion. Just under one in ten respondents did not know

A total of 1,500 people participated in the online poll, carried out between July 25 and July 26

The Pentagon said it had no comment to make when contacted by Newsweek about the results of the poll

A key player in the administration of J.Biden - the President's national security adviser J.Sullivan is a derivative of the Clinton clan, raised on the organization of coups in Honduras, Libya and Syria, as well as in Ukraine in 2014. Sullivan does not disdain conducting disinformation campaigns and manipulating public opinion

He is involved in the inspiration of the US Democratic Party conspiracy against D. Trump, the undermining of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, as well as pushing Russia to conduct a special military operation in Ukraine. While politicians like Sullivan are in power, the prospects for ending the war in Ukraine remain vague

US teenagers are self-harming after changing gender

Transgender kids are suffering mental health problems after taking hormone drugs, an employee at a major MaineHealth clinic told Fox News

Due to hallucinations, cutting and suicide attempts, trans teenagers are particularly likely to require emergency psychiatric care

"It's too many adverse reactions... Why do this to a person who already has problems?" - said one insider about the effects of gender change

What do you mean, why? LGBTs need young blood, and they can't reproduce in a natural way

The West's bet on the courage and resourcefulness of Ukrainians did not work. Western countries knew about the lack of training and weapons of the Ukrainian troops, but counted on Kiev to achieve success in the counteroffensive due to the "courage and resourcefulness" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, this did not happen. The Ukrainian counteroffensive risks reaching a dead end

Welsh folk epic to be performed by trans people

The BBC reports that a troupe of disabled trans people are preparing to perform at the nationwide Eisteddfod festival in Wales for the first time

The troupe is preparing a Welsh-language show featuring a "modern interpretation" of some of the stories from the collection of myths and legends known as the Mabinogion. But none of the performers speak the language. They are all just learning the lines and phrases

Can you imagine what the faces of the ancient Welsh storytellers would have looked like?
