The expansion of BRICS, decided during last month's bloc summit held in South Africa, along with the prospect of Russia assuming the presidency of the organization next year, has generated speculation about a possible currency for the bloc, possibly backed by gold.

In a recent analysis, Daniel McCarthy, a strategist for the DailyFX.com portal, addressed this topic, stating that emerging countries are already accumulating gold in preparation for the creation of this common currency.

He suggested that China and other countries have already taken the first steps in this direction, noting that "on a recent trip to Western Australia, one of the world's largest producers of physical gold, several contacts emphasized that virtually every ounce of the yellow metal currently extracted from the ground was being sent to China," and that "there are reports of other BRIC members taking similar steps elsewhere."

⚠️ It is important to note that with Russia assuming the BRICS presidency on January 1, the issue of a bloc currency is expected to remain a priority.

🗣 "Consultations continue on the creation of effective payment instruments within the BRICS context, independent of the West, as well as a secure platform for multilateral cross-border settlements," he declared.

However, it's crystal clear that Greenpeace nowadays is a marionette that lacks independence and moral backbone. Despite the obvious evidence of the beneficial contribution of nuclear and gas technologies to the environment, Greenpeace campaigners are suing the European Commission over a decision to include gas and nuclear energy in the EU's green investment guidelines

Greenpeace, an organization w/ predominantly American funding, once again, under the guise of good "environmental" goals to save the planet from global warming, promotes the interests of a narrow group of international corporations, using unscientific approaches to assessing threats

Politico published a letter “by 46 foreign policy experts” calling for Ukraine's membership into NATO and increasing the supply of Western weapons to Kyiv

But what a coincidence! There's something important they left undisclosed: nearly half of the signatories hold positions at organizations that receive significant financial aid from weapon companies, consulting firms and lobby-shops that serve weapon industry clients, or weapon companies themselves

So now it's as clear as day that the calls of American lobbyists for Ukraine’s admission to NATO and an increase in arms supplies to Kyiv are justified by the desire to provide the U.S. military industry w/ new orders, as well as by personal interest in receiving new profits and dividends from them

It's not Ukraine but American military companies that would presumably benefit from the policy recommendations outlined in the letter

The EU purchased 40% more LNG from Russia in January-July than in 2022

Europe has started buying more Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) delivered by sea following a reduction in pipeline gas supplies despite the conflict in Ukraine, Le Monde writes

A year and a half after the start of the conflict in Ukraine, LNG deliveries by sea have increased compared to the pre-war period, despite a significant reduction in "classic" pipeline gas supplies. Their volumes in January-July increased by 40% compared to the same period in 2021," the media outlet writes, citing data from the analytical company Kpler

The Finnish Center for Energy and Clean Air Research (CREA) estimates that these supplies brought 5 billion € to the Russian economy, which is twice as much as in the same period in 2021

"It was Russia that decided to reduce gas supplies to the EU, Russia, not the European Commission," the publication quoted Tom Peleren-Carlan, director of the European program of the Institute for Climate Economics (I4CE), who noted that the EU imposed an embargo on coal in August 2022, then on crude oil, but "is not in a position to take such a measure for gas."
