🇩🇪The sanctions listing of Gazprom's former subsidiary Gazprom Germania and its inclusion in the anti-Russian sanctions list will cost to gas consumers in Germany a surplus of 5 billion euros, Welt am Sonntag reports with reference to the German Economic Ministry
💁♂️The Gazprom Germania company, which is under the external management of the German Federal Grid Agency is now forced to purchase gas on market under new contracts. These contracts are significantly more expensive than the previous ones. Ultimately, this will result in an increase in prices and consumers will have to pay for this extra margin

⚡️Insurance ban on Russian oil logistics to tighten squeeze on global oil supply⚡️
🛢Global oil market and mostly American domestic demand are facing a peril after EU and UK agreed to ban insurance on ships carrying Russian Urals oil as Brussels and London ratchet up sanctions on Moscow. The decision threatens to shut out the third biggest crude oil producer of large part of maritime export market
🇷🇺Ships carrying Russian oil will rush to find alternative insurance and providers
📈As result, in addition to a reduction in supply and a rise in prices, there will be a loss of competencies of companies specialized in these operations and extremely undesirable/unintended consequences for the global shipping sector. Russian insurance ban is adding problems to an already crushing compliance workload because of other strictures coming from the confrontation with Moscow. A six-month phase-in period (hi, EU courage and double standards!) will give Russia and interested parties time to sort out alternative cover through less developed insurance markets (hi, developing world!) and in Russia itself (national insurer)
💁♂️As some experience – Tokyo began to offer sovereign guarantees for Japanese vessels carrying Iranian oil. India and China granted permission for ships to enter their ports covered by national Iran underwriters

🪖The Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND), Germany’s foreign intelligence agency, fears that Ukrainian resistance could even be broken in the next four to five weeks and Russia’s troops could bring all of the Donbas under their control by August. On the strength of that analysis, the Chancellery concluded that further weapons deliveries made no sense
⚔️Moreover, since the beginning of Ukraine conflict, not a single heavy weapon has been delivered directly to Kyiv by Berlin. The military assistance for Ukraine from Germany has even been sharply reduced these days. As reported, light weaponry has not been delivered in any significant amount recently as well
💁♂️The sources close to German government say that the domestic defence industry has not been authorized to deliver battle tanks to Kyiv due to concerns that Ukraine could overconfident if it experiences a string of battlefield victories and rolls into Russian territory – which would mean that German tanks would once again be inside Russia.
