Sheikh Mahdavi Arfae

Sheikh Mahdavi Arfae is an active cleric, instructor, and researcher in Islamic studies, whose primary scholarly and preaching focus is on the interpretation of the Holy Quran and, in particular, the explanation, teaching, and promotion of Nahj al-Balagha. He has designed structured educational courses ranging from foundational to advanced levels and provides detailed commentaries on the sermons, letters, and wise sayings of Nahj al-Balagha, aiming to expand public understanding of this text. Other key areas of his activity include the exposition of religious and revolutionary concepts, and delivering religious lectures on various religious occasions.

Mr. Mohsen Hamedi, born in the early 1980s in northern Iran, cultivated a deep engagement with religious and cultural traditions from his youth, evolving into both an accomplished reciter and a documentary filmmaker. He currently serves as the Principal Reciter for the Ansar al-Ghaem student organization, guiding its spiritual and cultural programming through his unique synthesis of sacred vocal and visual narrative arts.

🔹Sheikh Vakili was born in 1981 and entered howzah at the age of 12. Completing the howzah studies he then became mujtahid in fiqh, akhlaq and irfan. His books on Islamic ideology are being used by Astan Quds of Imam Reza (as) to teach teenagers.

🔹Sheikh Ali Qomi earned his Bachelor's in Computer Sciences from Western Michigan University, and a Master's in Business Administration from Grand Valley State University, both in the USA.

He has been studying in the Islamic Seminary of Qom for 11 years now and has a Bachelor's degree in Fiqh & Usul, and is finishing up his Master's in Islamic Studies with a focus on modern theology.
Finally, he is involved in several religious and cultural projects to propagate the Pure Muhammadan Islam in cyberspace and otherwise.

His devotion extends beyond academia; he is an esteemed reciter, having won top provincial rankings in Quranic recitation, understanding, and supplication. His work has a significant international dimension, where he serves as the Director-General of the International Studies Office at the Ahlulbayt (AS) World Assembly, actively engaged in cultural, communicative, and religious-propagational outreach on the global stage.

Congratulations to everyone who registered and paid for Itikaf! You have been selected to attend Itikaf 2026 (unless we have contacted you otherwise).

📍 Location Details: The exact location of the masjid will be sent to you via SMS on Friday morning.

🕖 Admission Time: Please arrive at the masjid between 7 PM - 8 PM on Friday night.

👜 What to Bring:
• Student card or any form of ID
• Clothes
• Pillow and blankets or sleeping bag
• Towel and personal toiletries (preferably odor-free)
• Slippers
• Personal medication
• Spiritual books
• Pen and paper
• Quran and Mafatih (available at the masjid, but feel free to bring your own)
• Some snacks for late-night cravings
