Don't waste connects on projects requiring expertise you don't have
Be honest about your capabilities

Check the client history before applying
Check their average hourly rate paid
What reviews & feedback they are getting from freelancers

👉 6. Avoid “BIG test tasks” without contracts
Never do full samples or pre-hire work unless you're protected with a contract.
"Simple task for $500" or "No experience needed, just message me". Man! That's a red flag.

👉 7. Never respond to jobs asking for contact outside Upwork
Mentions of WhatsApp, Telegram, or email = 99% scam.
