• 400 Rusted abandoned drums of unknown chemicals

• There are more than 1,000 small containers — again filled with unknown chemicals — that have to be tested one by one to find out what is in each, how dangerous it could be and what’s the best way to dispose of them.

• 4,000 students go to school within the one mile “hot-zone”

• EPA hopes everything can be hauled away by the end of summer. Then deal with whatever pollution found in the soil and possibly in the groundwater.

My Thoughts:
I have a bad feeling about this. Too many unknowns & I don’t like the EPA’s statements, like they anticipate something will happen. Given what I know in regards to chemicals & potential mixing (OSHA) if there was an “accident” with that many chemicals, that evacuation zone would be much larger.
